Dexter didn’t like being a pawn. It seems life was taking him there though. His father and he never saw eye to eye, but being captured and tortured for his father’s mistakes gave Dexter too much to think about. First, the girl he lost, he’d never forget what they did to her. It changed him, and made him see the small city his father moved him to for what is was, a prison for magicals, the damned, and now him. Too bad, the creator of the void didn’t realize they would be better off if they’d set him free, because now, he was fighting for his life, and someone he’d have to hide his feelings from to protect, not just from those that want to drag them back, but from him -a vigilant.
Interview with LM Preston
For those interested
in exploring the subject or theme of your book, where should they start?
Scepter Of Fire is a
true Urban Fantasy with a twist. In the book you will meet pixies, shifters,
vampires, and the Vigilant. The best place to start is the pre-qual book named
Insatiable Darkness.
How did you become
involved with the subject or theme of your book?
I’ve always loved
fantasy movies, books, and themes. However, seeing it with diversity and a
sprinkled mix of my imagination intrigued me, making me want to create a
reality of my own making.
What were your goals
and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved
them?
Scepter of Fire is
character driven even though the world surrounding the character is still
unknown to him, he is a fighter who doesn’t give up. No matter how bad life
gets, living is always the best choice and Dexter Lewis shows readers how to
survive in spite of adversity.
Anything you would
like to say to your readers and fans?
We have the ability
to do the impossible, when we are determined to fight for it, and I hope you
see that in Scepter Of Fire.
What did you enjoy
most about writing this book?
Scepter Of Fire was
extremely fun to write. My imagination was able to run wild without any
restrictions since this was a world of my own making.
Can you tell us a
little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
The next book in the
series comes out this Fall, 2020. Break The Darkness (The Vigilant) https://www.amazon.com/Break-Darkness-Vigilant-LM-Preston-ebook/dp/B08714355T/
Rei was nosey. She’d
been told it would always get her in trouble, but it never did. Until she met
Megan, who promised her the job of a lifetime. Sure, the high school newspaper
wasn’t the ideal job for most, but for Rei, it was a dream. She’d never
considered putting her investigative nature to work, but what Megan was asking
her to do was way beyond the requirements of a school newspaper. It was part of
an underground news for favor service. Her partners, Asher and Eli, annoyed her
by never trusting her to do a job alone. Maybe, this one time she should have
listened, because being trapped with no one to bail her out may surely be the
death of Rei. Not only hers but will spill the secrets about her family she’d
been withholding, placing every one of them in grave and serious danger.
How long have you
been writing?
I started writing
seriously, about ten years ago. I wrote for self-reflection and to
entertainment for over twenty years.
Can you tell us a
little bit about the characters in Scepter Of Fire?
The series has many
characters, but centers around the four Lewis siblings. EmVee, Dexter, Rei and
Reece.
Dexter is the second
oldest and is impulsive, passionate, and loyal. He is a fighter, but doesn’t
show it unless he absolutely has too.
If you could spend
the day with one of the characters from Scepter Of Fire who would it be? Please
tell us why you chose this particular character, where you would go and what
you would do.
I’d like to spend time
with Nash. He is a mix between a Pied Piper and a Rumpelstiltskin. He is
wicked, mischievous and has an uncanny ability to escape whatever prison they
put him in.
