#1 New York Times bestselling master of suspense Dean Koontz takes a surprising and exhilarating road trip with a man in pursuit of his strange past—mile by frightening mile.

Quinn Quicksilver was born a mystery—abandoned at three days old on a desert highway in Arizona. Raised in an orphanage, never knowing his parents, Quinn had a happy if unexceptional life. Until the day of “strange magnetism.” It compelled him to drive out to the middle of nowhere. It helped him find a coin worth a lot of money. And it practically saved his life when two government agents showed up in the diner in pursuit of him. Now Quinn is on the run from those agents and who knows what else, fleeing for his life.

During a shoot-out at a forlorn dude ranch, he finally meets his destined companions: Bridget Rainking, a beauty as gifted in foresight as she is with firearms, and her grandpa Sparky, a romance novelist with an unusual past. Bridget knows what it’s like to be Quinn. She’s hunted, too. The only way to stay alive is to keep moving.

Barreling through the Sonoran Desert, the formidable trio is impelled by that same inexplicable magnetism toward the inevitable. With every deeply disturbing mile, something sinister is in the rearview—an enemy that is more than a match for Quinn. Even as he discovers within himself resources that are every bit as scary.

My Review:

Quinn Quicksilver was abandoned when he was only three days old. He was left on a deserted highway in Arizona. Quinn was raised in an orphanage. The kids in the orphanage were always picking on him about his name.

Quinn lived an ordinary life not knowing that he was different, that he was not quite human. One day he felt the need to go for a drive that took him out into the middle of nowhere where he found an old coin worth a lot of money. This coin changed his life.

After finding the coin Quinn became paranoid thinking someone was always following him or after him which he was not wrong. Quinn’s feelings soon turned out to be true when he learned that two government agents were after him.

Quinn goes on the run trying to stay one step ahead of the government agents. Quinn meets Bridget Rainking and her grandfather, sparky who are also on the run from the same people. Bridgette and Quinn are alike as they are both different than others and not quite human.

Bridgette has known more about herself and what she is a lot longer than Quinn so she knows more about what is going on and can help him to hopefully stay alive. The only way to stay alive and keep the government agents from finding them is to stay on the run, hiding out wherever they can.

Quicksilver grabbed my attention from the first page and never let go as I raced to the end trying to figure out what was going on. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough as I wanted to know who or what Quinn and Bridgette were.

The suspense kept me hanging on for more. After that ending, I would like to read more about Quinn and Bridgette and their world. I would like to know more about who they are and the things they can do.

If you are a fan of Dean Koontz then I highly suggest that you grab a copy of Quicksilver today and join Quinn and Bridgette on their horror-filled journey!
