Blurb:

A shocking act of sabotage draws a retired spy into a deadly conspiracy in an explosive thriller by an Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling author.

After three decades in counterintelligence, Brad Trasker is retired, disillusioned, and dealing with a tragic loss. Spy games are behind him until he attends the launch of a next-generation aircraft. When the project of innovative aerospace CEO Kylie Connor explodes on the tarmac—nearly killing her in the process—Trasker is pulled back into the line of fire.

The mystery of the sabotage quickly deepens. All Kylie’s data has been wiped from the server. One of her engineers has disappeared. A seed investor has died in a suspicious car accident. And a cold-blooded murder raises the stakes even higher.

To discover who’s pulling the strings behind a dangerous conspiracy, Trasker needs to find a motive. Corporate espionage, revenge, or something he can’t yet see? Targeted by assassins, he finds himself overmatched when he realizes he can’t trust anyone—including Kylie. Too long out of a game he no longer understands, Trasker must adapt or die.

My Review:

Night Owl is the first book in the Trasker series by Andrew Mayne and the first book by Andrew Mayne that I have read. Night Owl pulled me in from the beginning with its many twists and turns that kept the pages turning.

The suspense kept me hanging on page after page as I raced to the end to see what was going on. Night Owl kept me guessing from beginning to end as to what was going on. The deeper I got into Night Owl the more my own world disappeared.

Brad is retired. He is dealing with the loss of his son. Brad meets Kylie Connor on the side of the road after he has a flat tire. Kylie helps Brad out and then invites him to the launch of her new project. Kylie’s new project explodes on the tarmac nearly killing her in the process. Kylie hires Brad to help her find out what happened.

Brad decides to help her out. Bodies start piling up. All of Kylie’s data has been wiped from the server. One of her engineers has disappeared. A seed investor has died in a suspicious car accident. And a cold-blooded murder raises the stakes even higher.

Who blew up Kylie’s project? What was their motive? What is going on that is what Kylie and Brad want to know. Where is their investigation going to take them? Who wants to stop Kylie from launching her project? Why do they want to stop her? How far are they willing to go to stop Kylie?

Night Owl is one of those books that would make an outstanding TV show. I would definitely love to see Night Owl made into a TV show.

I would recommend Night Owl to anyone who likes a good crime thriller with plenty of suspense to keep the pages turning! Grab a copy of Night Owl today!
