Excerpt:

“Have you checked Facebook lately?”

Based on Ember’s tone and somber expression, this wouldn’t end well. “No, why?” Her heart thumped a little harder, and her soup started swimming with creepy suckerfish.

“Okay, but don’t freak out.” Ember gripped her forearm.

“I’m already freaking out. I’m imagining fish floating in my belly.”

“What?” Ember arched a brow.

“Nothing.” Maude shook her head. “Just tell me.”

Ember took a deep breath and blurted out, “Brady posted a risqué picture of you and captioned it, Love this woman.”

Maude stared at her friend for a moment before Ember flipped around her phone to reveal the photo.

Her. In bed. Hair fluffed. A sheet resting precariously on the very edge of her breasts. But that wasn’t the worst part. Her naked body lay covered just barely by a sheet that was nestled between her legs so the viewer had a clear vision of her thighs. Her naked thighs. “What the hell?” Maude scrolled down, hoping no more pictures were posted. “When did he take this?” She gripped Ember’s phone tight in her hand and stared out the window. Barely seeing the people bustling by, not seeing the blinking Open sign, only seeing red. “I am going to kill him.”

In the spring of 2013, Jillian Jacobs changed her career path and became a romance writer. After reading for years, she figured writing a romance would be quick and easy. Nope! With the guidance of the Indiana Romance Writers of America chapter, she’s learned there are many "rules" to writing a proper romance. Being re-schooled has been an interesting journey, and she hopes the best trails are yet to be traveled.
