Novels that feature celebrities are of enormous interest to the reading public. Megastar features teen Addison Stone reaching the heights of fame without the usual pitfalls that so often overshadow the rich and famous. The story concentrates on Addison’s feelings, portraying how money and fame cannot replace the loss of the woman he loves love. I kept expecting the story to take a different path, but time after time, I was surprised and simply had to keep reading to the explosive ending. I highly recommend this book. A well-deserved 5 stars!

Interview with R. J. Eastwood
Have you read anything that made you think differently about fiction?
“Not really. I began as an early teen writing short stories about things that happened to me. I was around the age of 22 that I began writing screenplays, and then not until 2006 when I retired from 4-decades in the motion picture business that I began writing books, both fiction and nonfiction. I just love writing.”
How do you select the names of your characters?
“There is no real rime or reason to it. I often use names of my friends, which they get a kick out of. In MEGASTAR, Stan and Sally Potts, the producers of Sing American Sing, are real friends of ours.”
Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find?
“Never. There’s no point to it.”
What was your hardest scene to write?
“There is one, but if I reveal that, I will spoil much of the plot of MEGASTAR. Sorry.”
Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?
Of my three novels, I have yet to repeat a genre. THE AUTOPSY OF PLANET EARTH is science fiction, MIDNIGHT BLACK, is a suspense thriller, and MEGASTAR is the story of one man’s birth until his death with a strong emphasis on what true love means, or should mean, to everyone.”
What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved them?
“First, I do feel strongly that I achieved my goals. It is the story I set out to do, and it took me a year and a half to nail it. Forgive me ego, but I believe it is my best work.”
What inspired you to write MEGASTAR?
“I wanted to explore one man’s life from his birth to his death. It took a while to settle on the story I wrote, but I do believe I neailed it in a way readers will enjoy from the main characters rise to international fame, to love, love lost, lose regained.”
Can you tell us a little bit about the next books in MEGASTAR or what you have planned for the future?
“At the moment, there is no next book as I have yet to settle on a story I am passionate about. I do not write series.”
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in MEGASTAR?
“Hmm, that’s a tought one and would take more space than we have here, so I will leave it up to the readers to discover the characters in MEGASTAR.”
About the Author
Mr. Emery’s career as a Producer, Director, and Writer of motion pictures and television productions spans four decades. At a very early age, he began writing short stories and shared them with one of his teachers, who encouraged him to keep writing. His work in motion pictures and television eventually led him to begin writing books, both fiction and non-fiction, for which he has received many book awards, among them, Pen America, Author’s Circle, Book Excellence, Book Talk Radio, Readers Favorite, Literary Titan, International Review of Books.
His newest novel, “MEGASTAR,” is his 9th publication.
