Book Tour + Review + #Giveaway: The Dream of the Forest by Stjepan Varesevac Cobets @VSCobet @SDSXXTours

The Dream of the Forest
by Stjepan Varesevac Cobets
Genre: SciFi Romance Adventure

The year is 2197. More than one hundred years have passed since the natural destruction of the Earth's surface. The surviving inhabitants are now living in Heavenly Cities high above the clouds with no intention of ever descending back to the unstable surface again.

Helen is a lawyer who lives in one of those cities. Her life is almost perfect, but very soon she is going to find out that it was all just an illusion as her dreams scatter like leaves in the wind and the only thing left for her to return to will be her hometown.

But on her way home, an almost fatal car accident on the heavenly highway turns her life in a drastically new direction. Helen finds herself crashing down onto the earth's destructive surface and landing in a forest world that is completely alien to her with a million and one questions and very few answers.

The number 1 question being - is it really true what the government told her and the surviving population that no one ever survived down on Earth? Well, what if the truth was the complete opposite? What if there really were survivors?

As Arn observed, thick smoke gushed from the front of the car and small flames appeared off them, engulfing the front of the car. One hundred yards from the place where he stood, huge flames surrounded a parachute that soon disappeared into the inferno. The car fell into a dense crown of trees and disappeared from his sight.

Using tangled vines, Arn descended from the top of the large tree where he rested and headed for the crash site. He knew the person injured in the interior of the car would need his help. As he approached the crash site, the unpleasant smell of burned plastic and thick smoke filled his nostrils. The front of the car was destroyed and on fire. The entire interior was filled with thick, white smoke. Arn reached the vehicle and tried to get inside, but he hit his nose on a strange transparent material. He looked within. In the thick smoke, he perceived a woman’s hand. Heat flapped at his face from the burning front of the car. He had to pull out the woman or she would to death.

Arn tried to break the strange, transparent material by hand but it did not crack. He needed something hard to break it, so he looked at his surrounding. He saw a stone, picked it up, and struck the wall with it. To his surprise, the partition burst into a thousand, small, rectangular pieces. Arn cleared the sharp edges and tried to pull the woman out of the car. However, something was tying her to the seat. With his hand, he felt a belt around her chest. He pulled a knife from his belt and cut the strap.

In 2197 and it has been more than a hundred years since the destruction of Earth. People live about Earth’s surface in a controlled environment now under a dome. People who live in the Heavenly Cities have been told stories about life on Earth’s surface and have desire to ever live there again.

A young woman, a lawyer Helen’s life takes a turn that she never saw coming and starts to spiraling out of control. She is on her way to her mom’s when she is involved in an accident on the highway and she goes careening off the side of the road and falls down to Earth’s surface below.

Helen is trapped in the car and would have died there if it were not for Arn a man who lives on the Earth’s surface. Arn is in the forest for his initiation to becoming a Shaman. Helen was very lucky that anyone was there especially a Shaman.

Arn says he can take Helen to a place where she can make it back home but they have a lot of forest to travel through before they reach their destination. They run into a nice you man John on the way who informs them that a tribe came to his village and killed almost everyone except the women whom they kidnapped for their own pleasure. Arn, Helen and John try to make it to safety before this tribe catches them but they do run into them on occasion. Can they make it to their destination safely? Will the tribe catch them before they get there?

The Dream of the Forest is a very enthralling read once you get into the story and start to see what is going on and meet all the characters. I loved seeing how Helen and Arn interacted with each other. Helen always had a comeback to anything anyone ever said. She tickled be to death as the saying goes. If nothing else I enjoyed reading The Dream of the Forest for just that reason but of course that is not the only reason. The plot and the characters were very intriguing and it was very interesting to try and figure out how all the characters stories were going to intertwine.

I would recommend The Dream of the Forest to all fans of dystopian or science fiction fans.
