Excerpt:
“This body looks as if it has been chewed on--the edges of the throat lacerations are ragged and similar to a previous body that was brought in bearing the same type of teeth marks. A computer 3D model of the wounds on the second body, in front of me, determined the wounds to be made by the teeth of a large canine. However, The DNA test of the saliva left behind has been inconclusive.”
Dr. Violetta paused the tape recorder. “I have never seen anything like it,” she said to her assistant Andrew. “Take a look at the slide I have on the microscope. You’ll see.”
Andrew studied the cells on the microscope and wrote some notes in his typical scrawl that only he could read while Dr. Violetta started recording again.
“Cells separated from a human body die in moments. These cells scraped from the saliva on this body’s wounds have continued to divide and multiply, indicating that the cells are still living. Also, the DNA strands continually rearrange their structure without any outside influence. This is why it has proved impossible to conclusively determine which type of animal caused the damage to this body.” She stopped the recorder.
“This has to be kept out of the media,” she whispered, shaking her head in horrified disbelief.
"Where did this one come from?" Andrew asked, looking up from the microscope.
"He was found in Central Park."

Thank you for hosting.
I like the format of this post, and of your site.
I'll be checking in throughout the day, and I'd love to answer readers' questions.
I love the cover and think the books sounds wonderful.
Thank you Victoria, and Sherry.
Do you write every day?
I try to write everyday, even if it's just a few sentences.
Hello everyone, I have exciting news! Zee's uncle, Luigi Constantini from Forging Monsters has stopped by to answer some questions. He is a busy man, so let's get started!
***********************
Me: Welcome Luigi! How are you today?
Luigi Constantini: I'm doing well. It is pleasant and sunny in New York today. I enjoy sitting on my balcony on days like this.
Me: I like sitting outside too! It must be difficult for you to find time to do that as often as you like. I understand that you are the head of the Constantini family in New York, that must keep you very busy, doing all the...
Luigi: I can't talk about any of the activities of the Family, sorry.
Me: Oh, right, right. I understand. Sorry about that. Let's stick to neutral questions. What is your favorite sports team?
*Luigi vigorously rubs his hands together and leans forward, his brown eyes shining*
Luigi: Oh! I love sports: Soccer, basketball, hockey, football. I could talk sports all day.
I like the New York City FC team. I've always loved soccer, but it doesn't seem to be as popular here as it is in Italy. In Italy, people are as fanatical as Americans are about American Football, probably even more fanatic.
As for American football, I am a fan of the Giants, and I try to catch their games whenever I can. When I first came to this country, I watched the Buffallo Bills, but after a while, well, you understand.
Me: I do understand, after they made it to the Superbowl four years running and lost each time, I got fed up myself. Sorry, I hope none of the readers are still Bills fans.
Luigi: Well, if they are, that's on them. Anyway, let's see..Basketball teams. I favor the Knicks. They have some talented players, some of my favorite players include, Patrick Ewing, Walt Frazier, Carmelo Anthony.
Me: I think Luigi is in a mood to talk about sports, and he could go on like this for hours...
Luigi: Bernard King, Charles Oakley. Did you know that...
Me: Thanks Luigi, Don Constantini, sir, but I have to head out to the next blog on the list, are you ok with staying here and answering readers' questions? I'm sure they will have many.
Luigi: *Waves his hand dismissively* Forget about it, go have fun.
Me: Thank you for your time, Don Constantini. Much appreciated.
Luigi: Buon Proseguimento!
Luigi: Who has the first question? Don't keep me waiting...
