Amour in Avignon
by Jennifer Ivy Walker
GENRE: Contemporary Erotic Romance Novella
BLURB:
Adrift
and lonely, Lily Greene travels to Provence to spend the summer with
her aunt in the sunny south of France. In the vibrant city of
Avignon, she meets Ludo and Auguste, two expert fencers who are also
local actors performing in the upcoming Festival of Theater where
they will present the classical tragedy, Cyrano de Bergerac.
When
Lily joins their thespian troupe, portraying the lead female role,
she discovers that real life mirrors the play they are rehearsing,
for--just as Cyrano and Christian vie for Roxane-- Ludo and Auguste
become intense rivals for Lily.
Handsome
as a Hollywood movie star, Auguste is used to women falling into his
bed. But when Lily spurns his amorous advances, drawn instead to the
enigmatic Ludo, jealousy drives Auguste to seek revenge.
Will
tragedy strike with a cruel twist of fate? Or will love triumph with
Amour in Avignon?

Excerpt:
A few moments later, he eased up onto an elbow, rubbing a finger over the base of her neck “A love bite,” he whispered, kissing the skin of her throat where it met her left shoulder. “I marked you as mine.” In the moonlight, a possessive gleam glinted in his dark, intense eyes. He rolled onto his side, pulling her into his arms and kissing her long, tousled hair.
Lily snuggled against him, nuzzling his chest hair, inhaling his alluring scent. “Can you spend the night? I don’t want you to leave.”
Ludo stroked her hair, pushing a strand from her face as he kissed her softly. “I don’t want to leave, either.” He wrapped the blanket around them, cradling her upon his chest. “Come…sleep in my arms, Lily.”
Her body sated, her heart full, Lily lay contentedly in his strong, sinewy arms. Ludo’s limbs twitched as he drifted off to sleep. As she inhaled the heady floral fragrance from her balcony which perfumed the night air, Lily knew that for the rest of her life, the scent of jasmine would always remind her of Ludovic Brissa
My Review:
Lily is having a difficult time dealing with her divorce. Lily’s aunt invites her to come to Avignon to stay with her for a while. She hopes this will be just what Lily needs, time away for a while to get her mind off of everything.
Lily falls deeply in love with France the moment she lays eyes upon it. France comes alive through Jennifer Ivy Walker’s writing. Her description of the city makes you feel as if you are there witnessing it all. As I say seeing the world through the eyes of the author.
Lily’s aunt introduces her to two of her tenants Ludo and Auguste. Ludo and Auguste are best friends, two expert fencers who are also local actors performing in the upcoming Festival of Theater where they will present the classical tragedy, Cyrano de Bergerac.
The guys talk Lily into joining them in the play. Ludo and Auguste both fall for Lily. Lily wants to be with Ludo leaving Auguste very jealous and revengeful. Auguste is not used to women turning him down. Auguste usually has women eating out of the palm of his hand so to speak.
Will Auguste challenge Ludo to a duel? Will it be a fight to the death? How far will Auguste go to seek his revenge? Find out in Amour in Avignon. The suspense of not knowing will keep you on the edge of your seat as the tension ramps up and up. I couldn’t turn those pages fast enough as I was swallowed up in their story leaving my own world far behind me.
