Genre: YA Sci-fi/Romance
Release Date: July 19th 2017
Summary from Goodreads:
For fans of
The Hunger Games and Divergent...this exciting new science-fiction romance
series, filled with twists and turns, will take you for a wild ride!
When Riley heads off to boarding school for a summer work-study program, she
knows it'll be demanding. What she doesn't expect? To be thrust into an intense
physical training program described as special, exclusive and worst of
all--top-secret. She signed up for tuition assistance, not to be held in a
secret government facility for boot camp...
Welcome to The Division, the government agency that's so classified, most
United States senators have never heard of it.
The Division wants Riley bad, but she can't figure out why. Skeptical of what
she's being told, Riley's determined to uncover the truth. Boot camp is
intense, physically and mentally draining. The upside? One of her new teammates
is the cutest boy ever. Watching Finn hit the gym wearing a tank top doesn't
suck--although sometimes his brooding attitude does. But when training forces
Riley to confront her tragic past, even Finn's big biceps aren't enough to make
her want to stay...
Beware: The Division isn't something you just walk away from. You better
run.
Riley realizes her capabilities and strengths are greater than she'd ever
imagined. But she also learns she wasn't just chosen for this special
program...
She was made for it.
My Review:
Riley a seventeen year old girl just wants to get away from
home and her mother. Ever since they lost her father and sister in a car wreck
her mother drinks all the time so she can cope with losing them. Riley just
wants to get away from it all so she signs up to go to a boarding school with a
full scholarship and a work study program during the summer to help pay her
tuition.
Riley is in for a shock when she realizes that the work
study program is not exactly what it seems. No the work study program is more
like a boot camp. Riley has been recruited by the United States government into
a program that is called The Division, a top secret government agency.
Riley is very confused and has lots of questions as to why
the government wants her and will not stop until she has her answers. Riley can
be very demanding and annoying when she wants to know something. Riley is very inquisitive
person.
When Riley first arrives at the facility she has a hard time
making friends and as with her whole life and thinks no one likes her. But
things do start to turn around for her when she gets to know everyone better
and realizes they must work as a team. Everything especially starts to turn
around when she lays eyes on the cutest boy ever, Finn.
Once I delved into Premonition I couldn’t put it down it
didn’t take but a few hours to read. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough
wanting to know what was going to happen next. I wanted to know what questions
Riley was asking next. But I was right there with Riley the whole time wanting
answers to the same questions. I love reading books like this that brings you
into the heart of the book and you forget everything that is going on around
you and you lose track of the outside world for a few hours. I can’t wait to
read the next book in the series. Where is Riley, Finn, Emma and everyone else
taking us next?
I would recommend Premonition to anyone who loves reading
about top secret government projects where kids are recruited to be a solider
or science fiction books in general. Hey if you like these type of things then
you will love Premonition.
