How did publishing your first book change your process of writing?
I didn’t realize how much I had been silenced over the years, prior to writing this book. I had to dig really deep to find that voice- There was a lot of deep reflection, tears, and trying to find the words to describe how I felt as I wrote about unpleasant things from my past.
What was an early experience where you learned that language had power?
I always felt a deep connection with language in the written form. I was a quiet kid and loved to get lost in a wholesome story about nature and animals. As I found my independence as an adult I got to experience how words can change your life. They plant a feeling or thought within us, and what we hear, speak, and think becomes our existence.
Tell us a little about yourself? Perhaps something not many people know?
I am an introverted extrovert. I love to get out and explore. I love to meet new people, but I have limits.
If you had to do something differently as a child or teenager to become a better writer as an adult, what would you do?
I loved writing poetry as a teenager. I stopped writing when I became a mother at 19 years old. Don’t let life get so busy that you don’t have time to write anymore. Don’t let life circumstances take away the things you enjoy. Continuing the things you love despite your circumstances are a choice. Create boundaries to give yourself time to do things you love.
What is the biggest surprise that you experienced after becoming a writer?
I was surprised by how many people loved my writing style. I had not written for pleasure in a long time, but the message of this book was so important to me
Could you tell us a bit about your most recent book and why it is a must-read?
I took my personal success story and created a guide for others to achieve the same. It explains the process in an easy, realistic way. I took all the things I learned and used in my darkest moments and incorporated them into this book. Single Mom Millionaire isn’t just about real estate investing, it’s about forgiving yourself for your mistakes, creating a positive mindset, being mindful of the energy you put out into the world, and overcoming obstacles that come along with divorce, single motherhood, and domestic violence.

Growing up in both Germany and Alaska, she experienced a diverse childhood that shaped her into a well-rounded person with a global perspective.
