Book Description From Goodreads:

"Mom always says the angels walk among us. She forgot to tell me that sometimes they're not all fluffy and nice."

Seventeen-year-old Caleb Wood has seen people he calls the walkers since he was a baby. It didn't take long for him to realize something…no one can see these strangers but him. They never stuck around or tried to touch him. And they never said a word. That was until one day on the first day of class in his senior year when an incredibly gorgeous girl strolls into his life…and things are never the same again.

Soon Caleb realizes he has stepped into the middle of a growing conflict between two ancient groups. And his ability to see the invisible ones, the half-breeds that want to modify the human race, just might be the only hope both he and the mysterious, but infuriating, Gia, have of making it out alive.

My Review:

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Caleb Wood is a seventeen year old boy who lives in New Burn, North Carolina. When Caleb was a child he almost drowned in the ocean close to where he lives. Ever since he almost drowned he has seen what he calls walkers (no they are not zombies) his mother calls them angels. Caleb is the only one that can see them. They have never spoken to him and have never bothered him. They just show up every now and again.

On his first day of his senior year a new girl walks into his class room. This new girl Gia is a walker something about her being here is different this time. The difference is that everyone can see her and she talks to Caleb. She pops in and out whenever she takes a notion and in the most mortifying times. Caleb calls her his stalker/walker. He doesn't know who or what she is but he does like her a lot.

Caleb starts seeing these men in black he doesn't have clue as to who they are or what they are nor even what they want from him. Why have they just started showing up now? Why has he not seen them before?

A cheerleader Erica likes Caleb and breaks up with her boyfriend so she can start going out with him. Caleb wonders what she sees in him and why she wants to be with him. She is very popular and a pretty girl. But hey he's a guy and the reason doesn't matter to him all he knows and cares about is she wants him. He likes Erica but he cares more for Gia only thing is he doesn't know if she is real or not.

KaSonndra Leigh knows how to write a story that will keep you guessing and wondering right up until the end. She throws in mystery and mystery that keeps you turning those pages. I was like whom and what is Gia? What does she want from Caleb? Who are these men in black? What do they want from Caleb? Who is Caleb? What is Caleb?

If you like a good "who done it" story then Dark Seraphine is just the book for you. It keeps you guessing all through the book. You think you have it all figured out and then you are like what? No way. When she unveils the ending and slams it in your face it will surprise you big time. But hey I loved it!

Great review Nancy. I picked this one up while it was a kindle freebie not so long ago and I'm glad to hear it shaped up to be such a good read.
