Seventeen-year-old Krista must quickly figure out how she's going to survive in the zombie-destroyed world.

The one advantage humans have is that the zombies hate humid environments, so they're migrating west to escape its deteriorating effects. The survivors plan to construct a wall at North Platte to keep the undead out, and Krista has come to Nebraska to start a new life.

Zombies aren’t the only creatures she has to be cautious of—the other survivors have a dark side. Krista must fight not only to live but also to defend everything she holds dear—her country, her freedom, and ultimately, those she loves.

Join Krista in her quest to survive in this thrilling apocalyptic novel by Pembroke Sinclair.

My Review:

The world as everyone knows it has just come to an end and nothing will ever be the same again. Now the undead outnumber the living and this is Krista new world. Krista is a seventeen year old girl who lost her parents in the apocalypse. Her father left Krista and her mother one day to find help. He thought it would be safer for them if he went alone to the army base to see if he could find someone to help them. When he didn’t return the next morning her mother just had to go looking for him and she never returned. So Krista is left in this zombie filled world all alone and fighting for her life.

Krista finds a safe place in Florida with people that take her in and give her, her own apartment, sends her to school and gives her a job as well. But the top dogs of this place are lying to everyone at the sanctuary about the zombies. Most people in the sanctuary have never seen a zombie. Krista doesn’t want to stay here with these people controlling her for the rest of her life. She wants to go out there and fight the zombies and take back their world.

So when a guy Liet shows up at the sanctuary and says he is her cousin and has his own place and that they are building a wall in the North to keep the zombies out Krista decides to go with him but that may not turn out just the way she thinks or is hoping but anything that will get her out of Florida then she can make other arrangements. But what she doesn’t count or knows is that Liet is very controlling and abusive not only to her but others as well.

But all is not lost when she meets Quinn a guy who brings supplies to Liet and the people at the compound. At first Quinn and Krista are just friends who want the same things which are to save the people from Liet and the people in Florida as well but things do eventually start to heat up between the two. Quinn and Krista are on a mission to safe the people from Liet, the top dogs in Florida, the zombies and to take back their world.

My favorite show ever is The Walking Dead so I have read a lot of zombie books and watched a lot of zombie shows and movies and I haven’t gotten my fill yet. So imagine how ecstatic I was when Pembroke Sinclair asks me if I wanted to review Life After the Undead as I do love me some zombies. I couldn’t wait to seek my teeth into it. (No pun intended) I would love to see Life After the Undead on the big screen. I can’t wait to seek my teeth into the next book Death to the Undead. I would definitely recommend Life After the Undead to anyone who loves reading about zombies or loves The Walking Dead tv show.

Seventeen-year-old Krista has already proven she can survive the zombie hordes.

After moving to North Platte with her distant cousin General Liet to help build a wall that will keep the zombies in the West, it becomes apparent that the zombies aren’t the biggest threat—some survivors are far more dangerous than Krista had ever imagined.

With the help of Quinn, a survivor and fighter from the zombie-infested wildlands of the West, they free the garrison at North Platte from the power-hungry Liet. But there is a bigger battle to fight.

The Families who rule Florida and use intimidation and the threat of the zombie horde to coerce their territory want Krista and Quinn captured, the zombies want to devour them, and other survivors want them dead. Caught between powerful forces, will they survive long enough to devise a new plan and put it into action? Or will they self-destruct?

My Review:

Krista and Quinn have finally made their stand against Liet and taken over the compound. Once they determined who is on their side and want to help them fight for the people in Florida they leave for the west. They know once Florida finds out what they have done they will come after them. But just as they are leaving Florida brings in the big guns and choppers to destroy the compound thinking they are still there.

They know once Florida discovers they were not there they will come after them for what they did to Liet. After they recoup from their losses they make plans to help the people in Florida to escape from the “Families” and get their lives back.

Krista is one tough girl and I was glad to see that she finally took the initiative to stand up to Liet once and for all well not that she hadn’t in the past but  she did take some of it so that she could survive until the time was right to really fight back. Krista showed Liet that she was some pansy little girl that was just going to buckle down and be afraid of him and do exactly as he said. Oh no, Krista will never stand for someone taking over her life and controlling her. She won’t let a zombie take control of her so she is not going to let a human do it either.

As I’ve said before I love zombies and I have loved following along with Krista, Quinn and all the other characters on their journey of taking back their world from the zombies and the people who want to control them. I loved the world that the author has created for Krista and her friends along with the ones who want her dead like the zombies do. I would love to see Death to the Undead on the big screen and can’t wait to read more about Krista, Quinn and the rest of their friends. Oh and the zombies to of course.
