EXCERPT:
Without warning, there was a loud
rumble outside. The interior of the house dimmed as if someone had shut the sun
off.
“Storm’s coming,” Bev said. “We
should get going.”
I nodded. I was on foot and had to
swing by the mall before I went home. While Bev secured the lock, I wondered if
it was the last time I would ever get to see my house.
“Please, call me if you have any
further questions or would like to meet with the Lynnes.”
She made her way to her hover car
that was parked on the street. I went down West Winter Street toward Laredo
Avenue.
Just then thunder boomed, and a
lightning bolt filled the sky. I imagined a cracking noise that deep would make
small children jump and quickly hide.
I could see the children from the
soccer game run and collect their belongings to get inside before the rain
came. I was happy to see they all still clutched the flowers I had given them.
The last child was out of sight when another bolt of lightning struck across a
previously empty sky which had become invaded by ominous and brooding clouds.
The skies darkened even more, and the street grew menacingly dim.
Then the rain came.
As I reached the corner of Laredo
and West Winter, I blended in with the rest of the bustling pedestrians on the
sidewalk. People began to scatter as the raindrops hit the ground and struck
the faces of the passersby. Maybe the rain would wash away all the tears that I
had embarrassingly cried in front of a stranger.
I tucked the remaining flowers under
my arm as I continued back toward the mall.

Thanks for hosting!
How many languages do you speak?
Thank you for having me!
Other than English, I can speak some Japanese since I lived in Japan from 2011-2015. I took Spanish in High School but remember very little of it.
Thanks for sharing the excerpt :)
Thanks for this giveaway and good luck on your book.
A very interesting blurb.
