My Review:
Avlyn Lark lives in a world that is divided into three
levels, level one, two and three; 120 years after a virus wiped out a big
percentage of the people.
Avlyn was born to a couple on level one but because of her
intelligence level she was given to a couple on level two. She left behind her
twin brother Ben whom she missed every day of her life even after his death.
On her configuration day Avlyn was given a job, an apartment
and she was also given a pairing account where she is matched up with a few
guys where she will choose one that she will mate with for life and have a high
percentage of producing a level two child.
After a couple of incidents happening around the city;
incidents of which Direction blames on a rebel group Affinity. Avlyn is
contacted by Affinity to join their team and help them with their fight against
Direction and their lies and of all the wrong things Direction does.
Avlyn has been taught all her life to follow Direction and
be an upstanding citizen and never question anything or you could end up in
jail, dead or worse your family could pay for your mistakes.
I love all the technology that in is Configured from the
drones to the devices but I wouldn’t like living in a world where a baby is
taken from one couple and given to another or that society is divided so openly
and bold. Imagine living in a world where you whole life is planned out for you
from the time you get up until you go to bed at night. You are not allowed to
have any kind of emotions much less show them.
Configured is one of the best books I have read in a long
time and I can’t wait for the next book Immersed. I can’t wait to know more
about Avlyn, Meyer, Aron and all the other characters and their world.
Configured is just the book for any fan of dystopia or
