Blurb:

The Valiant was supposed to save us. Instead, it triggered the end of the world.

Earth is in shambles. Everyone, even the poorest among us, invested in the Valiant’s space mining mission in the hopes we’d be saved from ourselves. But the second the ship leaves Earth’s atmosphere, our fate is sealed. The alien invasion begins. They pour into cities around the world through time portals, possessing humans, forcing us to kill one another.

And for whatever reason, my brother is their number one target.

Now the fate of the world lies in the hands of me, a seventeen-year-old girl, but with the help of my best friend, Justin―who’s suddenly starting to feel like more―maybe if we save my brother, we can save us all…

My Review:

Aliens have invaded Earth and one girl seventeen-year-old Sara is trying to save everyone. The aliens/Xua takes over humans controlling them and making them kill their friends and families. Sara’s brother Gabe is the key to saving Earth and she must save him at all cost. She is given chance after chance to save him.

Sara uses time travel to save Gabe every time she travels through time her brother dies in one way or another. Sara has help with the time travel. One of the aliens or Xua has helped Sara numerous times with the traveling. The Xua tells Sara each time what she must do to save her brother. Sara teams up with her two best friends Natalie and Justin to fight the aliens and to help her keep Gabe safe and alive.

Valiant is a very fast paced read with action on every page. From the first paragraph to the last there is something happening. Sara, Gabe, Natalie and Justin are running from the aliens and trying not to be killed or possessed. It is like a movie being played in your head and you can see the aliens chasing them down the streets from one corner to the next. I could just see the explosions like big white balls of light or fire maybe. I could see the buildings and the cars in the street.

I would very much like to see Valiant become a movie. I would like to see the aliens and know what they look like and I would like to see their weapons or how they destroy humans or possess them. I mean I do have a big imagination but it is always cool to see it through someone else’s eyes.

I have been looking for a good book or movie about alien invasion for a while now and Valiant fit the bill perfectly. I can’t seem to get enough of the world of the Xua. I would love to read more of their story and of Sara, Gabe, Natalie, Justin, Billy, Carla and Ella’s stories too.

If you like stories about aliens, alien invasions or science fiction with a whole lot of action then I believe you will love Valiant. Give it a try.
