My Review:

Ace and her family spend the summer in Cherokee, North Carolina. Ace’s father works at the casino. Things between Ace and her family are not good with all the secrets. Each of her parents have secrets they are hiding from each other but Ace knows both of their secrets. Ace is torn between the two but loves both of her parents and doesn’t want to hurt either one of them so she keeps quiet not knowing what else to do.

Ace meets a nice young man John who lives on the reservation with his family. Ace and John have problems with both of their families supporting their relationship. Ace’s mother wants her to date her friend’s son, Cameron but Ace doesn’t like him because he is too controlling. Ace keeps quiet about the way Cameron treats her thinking that she can handle it on her own. John has a few secrets of his own in his family.

Just as summer was drawing to an end John receives a text from Ace and then she disappears. John is frantic with worry over Ace so he enlists the help of his best friend Simon, his twin sister Rae to help him look for her. The police have also been brought into the picture. John has been put under suspicion by Ace’s family they think that John had something to do with her disappearance.

John and Ace can’t catch a break from his family, her family or Cameron and now she has disappeared and everyone is pointing a finger at John. What happened to Ace? Where is Ace? Will John find Ace before it is too late? Will Ace and John’s family ever allowed them or give their blessing for them to love one another?

I loved how Ace and John handle certain situations most of the time they were more mature and acted more adult like than their parents. They were always thinking of someone else’s’ feelings before their own. They put others before themselves where and when it matter. While most of the adults only thought about themselves at times.

Cherokee Summer is filled action from the start that kept me hooked. I could really feel for Ace because I could relate to her in lots of ways by sort of knowing how she felt and experiencing some of the things she did but with a few difference of course. The characters were all amazing and had me feeling what they felt. There were times I would just choke up and times where I would laugh out loud. The author has a way with words that makes the story jump right off the page and make you feel as if you have entered into the characters world.

If you are looking for a nice clean sweet read then look no further because Cherokee Summer is that book. I highly recommend Cherokee Summer.
