The line between good and evil isn’t always clear…
Detective Madison Knight has risked her badge—and her
life—in the pursuit of justice before, and she just might need to do so again.
Two victims are found murdered and naked in the home of Steven Malone, who is
the largest contributor to the Stiles PD. One victim is his wife. The other
victim is a John Doe. This high-profile double homicide immediately pits
Madison against her sergeant, who seems more intent on protecting the Malones’
reputation and retaining a benefactor than catching a killer.
Madison will need to pull on her tenacity and courage if
she’s going to follow the evidence without prejudice. In the process, it
becomes clear that finding justice isn’t always black and white, and often the
shades in between tell the fullest story—and it’s not something she will forget
anytime soon.
Testimonials & Reviews for Shades of Justice
“Tremendous! A double
homicide, decadent scandals, and smooth prose—Shades of Justice is the perfect
combination of mystery and suspense. Arnold is a standout for her intensive
research, bringing an authenticity to the police procedural genre that’s rarely
matched. And heroine Madison Knight is a true renaissance woman—sharp,
talented, and unbeatable.”

bestselling author of Skyjack
My Review:
A woman is found dead in her home without a stitch of
clothing on. The woman is the wife of the Stiles PD’s biggest contributor. The identity
of the nude man found with her is unknown. Who is this John Doe? Who would want
them dead? Were our murder victims having an affair? Why was John Doe there on
that faithful night? Was he in the wrong place at the right time so to speak? Was
John Doe a case of mistaken identity? Detective Madison Knight has a long list
of suspects and people to interview.
Madison’s best friend Cynthia is getting married and Madison
is the maid of honor. Madison has a lot on her plate with being the maid of honor
having a murder case to solve and she was also a witness to a young woman being
hit by a car. Did the driver run a red light or was it an accident? Did the woman
walk out in front of him? Who had the right of way the woman lying in the
street or the driver?
Shades of Justice is filled with action from beginning to end.
It will pull you into its depth from the first page and have you hooked trying
to figure out whodunit? Madison Knight is one tough cookie and will let nothing
stop her from finding the truth.
Shades of Justice is the first book in the Detective Madison
Knight Series that I have read but that is ok as it can be read as a
stand-alone. This may be the first Madison book that I have read but it is not
the first book by Carolyn Arnold that I have read and I hope it won’t be the
last. Carolyn knows how to make her characters and stories come to life on the
page. She knows how to keep you guessing as to whodunit from the start right up
until the end. I can’t wait to read more about Detective Madison Knight.
