The universe needs saving,

but is this makeshift crew really the stuff of superheroes?

Nivala’s first interstellar patrol is interrupted by extremely unwelcome visitors.  Mallivan may have to take them on board; he doesn’t have to like it.  His vociferous crewmembers certainly don’t.

He is right to be concerned. The youngest member of the team is in imminent, grave danger. People covet her privileged link to the mighty Chakran aliens, who can unlock spacetime itself.

When she makes a brave and selfless decision, the situation becomes critical.  If they can’t reach her in time the galaxy will slide into self-serving chaos.  They must risk more than their own lives.

Will their rookie tour of duty also be their last?

Interview with Gillian Andrews

For those interested in exploring the subject or theme of your book, where should they start?
The Series starts with Termination Shock, so that’s the place to start if you want to read the whole Interstellar Enforcement Agency series in order. You don’t have to.

Although this is just a light, upbeat Space Opera story, quite a lot of the speculative parts of the book are rooted in scientific fact.  If you are interested you should start with a quick search on Wikipedia and take it from there.

How did you become involved with the subject or theme of your book?
I have always been passionate about Cosmology and Quantum Mechanics.  I even did a master’s degree in Astrophysics.  I’m a lifelong Trekkie as well, and always loved writing.  I guess, looking at that, there was no other way it could have gone.  It must have been in the stars!

What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved them?
I only ever have one goal for a book: finish it.  Finish it.  Thankfully, I did!

Anything you would like to say to your readers and fans?
Hi!  I hope you enjoy Interdicted Space!  I had a lot of fun writing it and I hope some of that shows through in the finished story.

Oh, and please, pretty please, leave a review on Amazon if you can!  I really need some reviews for the series.  I think there are only three so far!

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
I was really pleased to be able to inject some humor and banter into the book.  And the carbon cloud technology was really pleasing to come up with.  But mainly it is the interaction between the different characters that I love.  I want to write something that is exciting and that will make me smile sometimes when I read it back.

Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
Book Three in the Interstellar Enforcement Agency series is out in two weeks!  It has been a whirlwind with all three of the first books in the series being published in the space of two and a half months.  Incredible!

I already have the covers for Books Four and Five, so that is my “to do” list for 2020.  I’m hoping to publish those two by November this year.

Then?  I don’t know.  I go cover by cover.  If I have the cover, I write the book.  If not, I generally hang around the house feeling twitchy and bad-tempered.  So it is much, much better to be writing!

How long have you been writing?
Since I was about ten.  My first book was a fanfic continuation of Gulliver’s Travels and was about six pages long!

Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Interdicted Space?
Ryler Mallivan is a Captain with a slight attitude.  Zenzara is an irritating protegĂ©e who always talks back.  The Chakrans are vast interstellar beings who span the cosmos but have a problem communicating with other species. And there are lots more!

If you could spend the day with one of the characters from Interdicted Space, who would it be? Please tell us why you chose this particular character, where you would go and what you would do.
I think I would like to spend a day on board Nivala.  She’s a ship, so not really a character, but that way I would get to interact with all of the main characters.  Because what I love is the way they talk, the way they all try to work to solve problems and the humor between them.  I just want to be another member of the crew!
