Booked for MurderR.J. Blain(Vigilante Magical Librarians #1)
Publication date: August 18th 2020
Genres: Adult, Urban Fantasy
Life as a bodyguard and driver for the rich, famous, and powerful is dangerous on a good day, and after sustaining a crippling injury while on duty, Janette’s left with few options. Having signed a ‘for life’ contract but unable to work, she uses her skills to disappear.
Her new life as a librarian suits her. Nobody cares she limps and sometimes requires a cane to walk. She’s wanted for her knowledge, not her lethal magic. She’s surrounded by books, a woman’s best friend.
But when her former employer’s best friend is murdered on the steps of her library, old loyalties and secrets might destroy her—or set her free.
Teaming up with her co-workers to find the killer might keep her from being booked for murder, but unless she’s careful, she’ll find out exactly how far her ex-boss will go to reclaim what is rightfully his.
Her. For life.
My Review:
Janette loves her new life as a librarian but if her new identity is
ever discovered by her ex-boss then her new life may be over. Janette
is in hiding. She is hiding from her ex-boss. Janette was a bodyguard
for the rich and famous. Janette signed a life contract. Janette was
involved in an accident leaving her with a busted foot and limp. No
body in her new life cares if she limps and walks with a cane as long
as she can do her job.
When her ex-boss’s best friend is killed and left on the doors
steps of the library Janette’s new life may be taken away from her
if her ex-boss sees through her attempt at disguising her identity.
Janette with the help of her friends at the library work together to
solve the murder before Janette is arrested.
Booked
for Murder is a very enchanting and magical read that grabbed me from
the first page and just kept on spinning. Booked for Murder has
twists from the first page that kept me whiling. It sort of gave me
the feeling that I was on a Tilt-a-Whirl.
Once
I picked it up I couldn’t have put it down until I had read the
last page even if I wanted too. Booked for Murder is one amazing and
magical ride. Janette kept me on my toes wondering what direction her
story was going in next.
I
highly recommend Booked for Murder to anyone looking for a magical
read. One click your copy of Booked for Murder today to begin this
wonderful journey.
