~Finalist Forward INDIES Self-Help Book of the Year 2020~ (Winner TBA 6/17/2021)
Excerpt:
The thought process is regarded as a sign of human intelligence, yet our thoughts often sabotage what we do and are unaware, negative, and create stress. We’re running an old program in our brain’s neural net. Worse, we’re addicted to the repetitive thought process. It feels good, safe, right. It feels like us. Who we are. Our thoughts create feelings and emotions which, even if we don’t always like them, are a known process that continually reinforces itself in the brain.
Minor adjustments are not enough to alter the brain’s stress process. The brain’s neural net needs a system overhaul, a complete update and reboot. We’re going to take thought off its pedestal and get real with it.
Too often we feel that to attain awareness means taking a very serious, “adult” approach to life, like a monk sitting in a cave for a decade. But it can be a playful adventure with childlike wonder.
Our INTENT in this process is the WHY of what we’re doing. Our intent is to consciously break up our habitual neural pattern—mechanical, negative thoughts—by informing and teaching the brain to change. In essence, to rewire itself. If the brain understands what we are trying to do, and why, it will listen. It has no choice. You can be the master of wiring your neural net to a positive state.
Interview with Geoffrey Saign
What book that you have read has most influenced your life?
J. Krishnamurti’s books first made me realize that the thought process is the problem for all of human problems. It’s us, and not outside us. Eckart Tolle talks about much the same thing, as have Buddhist monks for centuries.
Tell us a little about yourself? Perhaps something not many people know?
I love to sail, swim, hike, be in nature—I’m swimming 5 days a week in lakes and rivers in Minnesota in the summer. I also love to cook, write, do martial arts, and be silly, goofy, and adventurous. Everything is an adventure, and I follow my passions in everything I do.
Can you tell us something about your book that is not in the summary?
This book was partially developed over the time it took to write it. Meaning, I was learning—and intelligence was guiding me—as I wrote the book. It was a living production, that I used and still use daily.
When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?
Sometimes I get stuck on plot points, and then I talk to editors, friends, beta readers. Once those ‘sticking’ points are resolved, then it’s pretty easy. Dozens of rewrites are always required, but that’s fun, like filling in a great painting with a few touches here and there. Overall it’s a very exciting process, once I get going.
What is your favorite childhood book?
In childhood Mom read us picture books, and later I read the Hobbit and other fantasy and thriller novels. I don’t have a favorite, but I was always excited about STORY.
What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved them?
The goal was to create a clear path for the reader to understand how to change his/her/their brain patterns that interfere with joy and happiness. I’ve written dozens of books, and this was one of the most fulfilling and exciting ones that I’ve created.

I'm excited to be here! I'll stop back later and respond to any comments or questions!
Hello! No, personal preference is quiet, birds, wind, voices, but not music. However, when I hear some movie scores, or clips of some music, it might help me set the mood for a scene.
ps. I was talking about fiction, nonfiction, don't want music--the material is less about emotion and more about information, clarity, and usefulness.
Sounds like a great read.
