Blurb:
After being wrongly convicted of murder, eighteen-year-old Leo Hart is sentenced to serve time in the worst place imaginable—Krimos Islands.
This cluster of penal islands is said to be reserved for the most heinous of convicts.
Murderers. Sociopaths. Wicked men capable of taking a life without a second thought.
And Leo is anything but wicked. He’s soft—too soft, according to his brother.
He’ll never survive.
But when Leo discovers that part of Krimos Islands is inhabited by a society of men searching to atone for past mistakes, he knows this is his only shot at survival.
The only problem is, getting there is nearly impossible. Leo will have to travel across gang territory just to reach the next island, which is said to be even more dangerous than the one he started on.
Whether he reaches his destination will depend on who he trusts, and how much of his humanity he’s willing to shed.
From the author of The Feral Sentence—an all-female penal island survival series—comes the highly anticipated, cut-throat story about the all-male penal islands.
TRIGGER WARNINGS
Profanity, Suicide, Abuse, Violence, and Death
My Review:
Blood Kings is a great start to a brand-new series. It starts off with a blast and never lets up. It will keep you in suspense from the first page right up until the last with never a dull moment in between. It will keep you guessing from page to page. I couldn’t turn those pages fast enough as I raced to the end and watched the story unfold. Blood Kings is mesmerizing and pulled me into its depths farther and farther the more I read.
Blood Kings takes place on an island, Krimos Islands. Criminals are taken to this island to serve out their time with other hardened criminals. Only the meanest and the evilest of men are sent to this island. There are no guards or law keepers on the island only criminals.
Eighteen-year-old Leo Hart is wrongly convicted of a murder crime and is sent to Krimos Islands. Leo is a soft-hearted kind of person. How is Leo ever going to survive on an island with men like the ones on Krimos Island? He will have to tread very lightly.
I had no problem following Leo during his time on the island. The description was well done making it very easy to see it all in my head as if I was watching a movie. Blood Kings has left me wanting more. I can’t wait to read more about this world. I am anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.
I would recommend Blood Kings to anyone looking for a great thriller filled with edge-of-your-seat action. Grab your copy of Blood Kings today!
