Friday Recommends #4

Friday Recommends #4

Photobucket

Friday Recommends is a weekly meme hosted by Pen to Paper. This a weekly book blog hop where we as bloggers choose a book that we have read and recommend it to our fellow bloggers. We can then visit each others blogs to see what other bloggers recommend and find new books to add to our TBR list. Hopfully we all will have new followers from visiting each blog on the linky list.

The rules for Friday Recommends are:

  • Follow Pen to Paper as host of the meme.
  • Please consider adding the blog hop button to your blog somewhere, so others can find it easily and join in too! Help spread the word! The code will be at the bottom of the post under the linky.
  • Pick a book that you've read, and have enjoyed enough to recommend to other readers. It can be a book you've read recently, or a book you read years ago - it's up to you - but make sure you tell us why you love the book (like a mini review). You make the post as long or as short as you like.
  • Add your blog to the linky at the bottom of post on host site Pen to Paper after posting your blog post.
  • Put a link back to pen to paper (http://vogue-pentopaper.blogspot.com) somewhere in your post.
  • Visit the other blogs and enjoy!

My Recommed for this week:

Paperback, 480 pages

Published February 25th 2009 by Dell (first published 1981)

Palomino by Danielle Steel

Goodreads synopsis:

Samantha Taylor is shattered when her husband leaves her for another woman. She puts her advertising career on hold and seeks refuge at a friend's California ranch, where she loses herself in the daily labor of ranch life.

Here, she discovers the healing powers of trusted friends, simple joys, and hard work. She also meets Tate Jordan, the ranch foreman, and a tumultuous relationship ensues.

When Tate disappears and a fall from a horse changes Samantha's life forever, she is confined to a wheelchair and must look deep inside herself to finds the courage to begin again.

Now, fighting the battles of the handicapped, she finds new challenges, new loves, and even the adopted child she's always longed for.

My Thoughts

Palomino is my favorite book by Danielle Steel. I loved how strong Samantha was, she goes to her friends ranch to help her get over her husband leaving her and she never openly or voluntarily tells anyone about her own problems. She tries to help her friend the owner of the ranch be with the one that she loves openly. Samantha tries to get her to see that things have changed and that no one would care if she married her foreman.
