Review: Darkness Falls (Darkness Falls #1) by Jessica Sorensen

Darkness Falls (Darkness Falls #1) by Jessica Sorensen

Darkness Falls (Darkness Falls, #1) Darkness Falls was given to me by the autor Jessica Sorensen for review.I really enjoyed reading Darkness Falls it was a great read. I love reading anything about vampires, post-apocalyptic and the paranormal. Darkness Falls is about a seventeen year old girl Kayla who is a Bellator, a warrior that helps protect The Colony. The Colony is a place deep under the ground where all the survivors of the disease live. They can't go outside because of the vampires, humans that were transformed because of the disease. Kayla being a Bellator is sent outside The Colony where the vampires are to bring back supplies. They have three rules to follow to survive.

The rules are:

  1. Never go out after dark.
  2. Always carry a weapon.
  3. No matter what, never EVER get bit.

The Highers run The Colony and have strick rules that must be followed. Kayla tries very hard to follow these rules but she does not like not being her own boss and rebels aginst the Highers. She is then chosen for The Gathering. The Gathering is where they throw you out into the outside world where the vampires are. As far as Kayla or anyone knows no one has ever survived in the outside world with the vampires. She meets Aiden along with other surviviors on the outside and realizes that the Highers have been lying to them the whole time.

Kayla was being transformed into the best warrior by Monarch secretly to fight the Highers in order to save the world. Can she save the world? Will she be the best warrior? Will she lose all of her the skills that Monarch gave her? I don't know I can't wait for book #2. I hope that all that was not revealed in book #1 will be revealed in book #2. I hope in book #2 that we will find out more about Kayla who she was, what caused the disease and why were they transformed into vampires?

Have you read Darkness Falls? What did you think? Did you like it? Leave a comment below and let me know what you thought. I love reading my comments. Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
