Review: Sorceress, A Fantasy Romance Short Story by Gayle Katz @booksbygayle

Sorceress, A Fantasy Romance Short Story
by Gayle Katz
Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Short Story

Blurb:

When a young sorceress-in-training is recruited to kill her counterpart at a rival sect, her whole world is turned upside down.

Sneak Peek:

Mara paused. Her gut reaction was to say that she didn’t want to take on this assignment. She had never killed anyone before----at most, she had slain a few monsters, but that had been in self-defense. However, Alastor often talked to her about the bigger picture. How they needed to protect the world from those who would revel in its destruction. The Order of the Hyacinth was a cruel, ruthless group. Making them weaker would be better for everybody.

My Review:

Mara, a young sorceress is given a task by her teacher to go and kill a young boy not much different than her. Mara is told that this young boy/ man is a member of their rival’s and that he is dark and evil. Mara is led to believe by her teacher that killing this boy would save everyone from mortal disaster.

Mara doesn’t want to kill this guy but what choice does she really have if he is a danger to them all. She could possibly be saving lives, right? Mara has never killed anyone before and questions her teacher’s ways but not to his face of course. But if her teacher says she must kill this boy then kill him she must.

Sorceress is a great and wonderful introduction into a brand new series. Sorceress is filled with action and excitement from beginning to end. Sorceress has its share of twists and turns too that will keep the pages turning and the story has this great big whopper of a twist that turns the whole story around for you. This big twist was very surprising to say the least but I loved it although I wasn’t sure how I felt about it in the beginning but it does grow on you and feels your heart with warmth.

Now I can’t wait to see what the author or better yet the characters have waiting for us in the future. I can’t wait to read more of these characters adventures. What an amazing little story.

If you like witches and sorcerers with a touch of romance then you are absolutely going to fall in love with this little gem.
