My Review:
My review is for A Demon Born’s First Love by Ashley McLeo.
A Demon Born’s First Love is about a girl, Iola, and her classmates. All of Iola’s classmates are afraid of her because she is a demon-born witch. Iola never wanted to go to the witch’s academy but she didn’t want to disappoint her mother.
Because Iola was different from her classmates they picked on her all the time by playing pranks on her. They laughed at her, called her names, made fun of her.
A new boy, Leo arrives at the academy, and Iola’s worst enemy, Melissa likes him and becomes very jealous when she sees Iola and Leo together. Melissa wants to hurt Iola and let her know all at the same time that Leo belongs to her. Melissa plays a very bad prank on Leo which in turn hurts Iola.
Can Iola forgive Leo for what he has done? But the real question is, has Leo done any wrong? Is Leo to blame for what Melissa did? To find the answers to all these questions you will have to read Iola’s story in A Demon Born’s First Love which is a part of the Magic Academy: Year One’s magical collection of love stories.
A Demon Born’s First Love is a magical tale about hurt, hate, love, and magic. I think everyone could learn a few things from Leo. Leo knows that you have to get to know someone before forming opinions of them. Because what is on the inside is not always what is on the outside. It’s like the saying you can’t judge a book by its cover.
