A sociopath is on the hunt…

Bret Silva’s handsome face is plastered all over town on placards praising his success. But neither his eyes nor his friendly smile betray the dark beast that lurks within. A beast that requires sacrifices. But one mistake endangers Bret’s survival.

When the men from Savage Security discover a damning photo, they realize that someone has mastered the art of the perfect murder. As their hunt begins, Cole Savage must reconcile his desire for justice with the burning ache in his heart for Julia Romero. Enlisting her help as a realtor, they work together to find a new home for Savage Security while the hunt for the killer continues. As the men discover more victims, they piece together the clues and realize that one of their own may be in the sights of a ruthless killer.

Excerpt:

She hadn’t spent a lot of time thinking about him when he was just a customer at the restaurant, but some magical, sensual switch had flipped when he’d told her that he was interested. She suddenly saw him differently. His eyes no longer looked serious and aloof. Now his smoldering looks sent tingles shooting through her core. And when he got close, his musky cologne tempted her to press herself against him.

Amelia hopped onto Julia’s bed. She absentmindedly stroked her hand over the comforter. “Are you going to bring him back here tonight?” she asked suggestively. “I’ll be sure to leave the two of you alone.”

Julia’s cheeks heated. “No, I’m not sleeping with him tonight. The man’s a client. It wouldn’t look good.”

Amelia shrugged. “Who cares about work? And by the way, it would certainly feel good.” Pointing towards the hallway she continued, “And that man out there isn’t here as a client. The testosterone emanating from him is almost suffocating. My ovaries are dancing and cheering with delight for a chance to tango with him. So, I’m warning you, if you don’t do the deed with him soon, I’m going to.”

Julia raised a brow at Amelia. “No one’s doing the tango or the mattress mambo. Our relationship isn’t like that right now. We’re… waiting.” She hoped Cole knew they’d be waiting. She didn’t want these outings with him to mislead him. Sure, she was interested, but the timing was wrong. Any sensual dynamics of their relationship would have to be put on hold. “Besides, I’ll remind you again. He’s a client.”

“Waiting?” Amelia scoffed. “A man with his obvious sexual prowess may get tired of waiting.”

“Listen to you,” Julia motioned to Amelia,” you’re talking about him like he is a raging, horny lion and not an intelligent man. We’ve only been out a few times, and mostly as work… appointments.” She wasn’t quite sure how to label their outings together. Definitely work, but the sexual tension had intensified with each outing. If the tension got much stronger, she’d crack like unbaked spaghetti in a toddler’s thrashing hands.

Amelia shook her head. “Doesn’t matter. It’s a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in the presence of a hot woman, will want to bang her. Especially the alpha-males. They have insatiable appetites that must be met, or they turn into knuckle-dragging cavemen.”

Julia snorted. “Did you read that in Psychology Today or Cosmo?

Amelia stood and put her hand on the doorknob. “I don’t recall which,” she said, biting her lip and looking towards the ceiling as she thought. Then glancing back at Julia, she added, “But I can assure you that it’s accurate. You laugh, but I’m right.” Her lips quirked into a mischievous smile. “And lucky you gets to find out how right I am. But I want details.” With a giggle, Amelia opened the door and went into her own bedroom.

Julia wasn’t sure what to think of Amelia’s comments. Just being in Cole’s presence got her hot. Was that pheromones or a reaction to his off the charts testosterone? Either way, her thoughts were turning lustier with each moment she spent in his presence. She’d noticed the feel of his cock through their clothes as they’d hugged the night before. It had taken everything in her to not rub herself against him like a dog in heat. If she didn’t build up a tolerance to his charms, she’d be fired for sleeping with a client. Was that a bad thing in realty, like it is for doctors or lawyers?
