THE WORLD HAS CHANGED.
SCIENTISTS WARNED IT WOULD HAPPEN.
Meteors devastated the Earth. World Governments developed plans to help surviving citizens. The United States disbanded and salvageable land was divided into our quadrants—North, South, East, and West—governed by The Remnant Council.
Struggling to survive, seventeen-year-old Ava ends up in juvenile detention, until she is selected for a new life—with a catch. She must be injected with an experimental serum. The results will be life changing. The serum will make her “better.” To receive the serum, Ava agrees to join a program controlled by ISAN, the International Sensory Assassin Network.
While on a mission, she is abducted by a rebel group led by Rhett and told that not only does she have a history with him, but her entire past is a lie perpetuated by ISAN to ensure her compliance. Unsure of who to trust, Ava must decide if her strangely familiar and handsome captor is her enemy or her savior—and time is running out.
My Review:
Seventeen-year-old Ava doesn’t remember much of her life
before joining ISAN the International Sensory Assassin Network. About all she
remembers is her mom and the love she felt for her. When her mother passed away
Ava was put in foster care until she ran away from an abusive foster father.
Her foster father didn’t care about her nor did the system either; as no one
came looking for her until she was caught stealing to survive and then sent to
ISAN.
At ISAN Ava is trained to fight and how to be a killer. She
has no family at ISAN but she has met a few friends whom she considers as
family and is one who will sacrifice herself to save one of her friends. Ava
has worked hard at her training and has become the leader of her team.
Then one day Ava is kidnapped and told that what she has
been taught is all a lie. Ava no longer knows who to trust or believe. She is
no longer sure whose side she is on. Who is right? Is ISAN telling her the
truth? Or is this new guy in her life Rhet t? When Ava is with Rhett she feels
safe as if he is someone she can trust. Whenever she is near him her heart just
about leaves her body and she starts to heat up.
I love dystopian novels and couldn’t wait to dive into this
after reading the summary. The world building is so amazingly incredible it
grabbed a hold of me on the first page and wouldn’t let go. I think I flew
through it wanting to know what was around the next corner. It is filled with
lots and lots of fighting and action that will keeping you coming back for more
and more. I couldn’t wait to get to the end but when I did it blew me away. I
didn’t see that one coming. Although a lot of questions were answered by the
end there were also a lot unanswered questions as well but in my opinion that
just makes for a good book. I can’t wait to see what the next book has instore
for us.
ISAN was one amazing read that I would recommend to all fans
of dystopian and science fiction.
Author Bio:
International Bestselling Author Mary Ting/M. Clarke resides in Southern California with her husband and two children. She enjoys oil painting and making jewelry. Writing her first novel, Crossroads Saga, happened by chance. It was a way to grieve the death of her beloved grandmother, and inspired by a dream she once had as a young girl. When she started reading new adult novels, she fell in love with the genre. It was the reason she had to write one-Something Great. Why the pen name, M Clarke? She tours with Magic Johnson Foundation to promote literacy and her children’s chapter book-No Bullies Allowed.

I love dystopian too and haven't read one in a while, actually! This sounds like a great read! :)
