Blurb:

Claudia De Santos has always looked out for every witch but herself. She fought from the shadows as her coven turned dark, and with a little help from her half witch/half alpha werewolf cousin, Tessa, Claudia is doing everything she can to keep her friends and family in the light.

Now the coven has splintered into two factions: Luciana’s army of witches wielding dark magic, and Claudia’s few stragglers who fight with the wolves. War is coming, and it won’t be much of a battle if Claudia can’t find the spells to counteract Luciana’s demonic power.

The answers lie in ancient magic, and Claudia must journey to Peru to rediscover what the Inca mages knew. Fighting evil will require a pure spirit, but her quest is full of temptations, including a handsome Peruvian guide with secrets of his own.

As she struggles to gain the knowledge her friends will need in the coming battle, conflict rages in Claudia’s heart. Following through with her arranged marriage could bring hope and more allies to the side of good, but at the cost of her own happiness. Should Claudia stay on the same path of duty she’s always walked or risk it all—her life and the futures of all brujos—for a chance at something more?

My Review:

Bruja is told from Tessa’s witch cousin Claudia who was a part of Luciana’s coven before it spilt. Claudia has a blood bond with Luciana and every night when she goes to sleep Luciana drains her magic which is making her weaker and weaker. Claudia and a few of her friends escaped Luciana and were given a place to stay with the wolves at St. Ailbe’s Academy.

When Luciana attacked the wolves at the Academy wanting to get Claudia back as she is a powerful witch and needs her magic Raphael Claudia’s twin brother is injured and is dying. Claudia and the other witches are working around the clock trying spell after spell trying to break their blood bonds from Luciana and to find a way to save Raphael. They are running out of spells and nothing is working.

They need some very powerful magic if they are to stop Luciana and the war that is headed their way. She has tried everything she knows to try she knows what she needs and that is ancient magic and to find that she will have to travel to Peru.

Claudia will do whatever it takes to save her twin and the other witches even if it means traveling around the world to do it. She has a long way to go but only a short time to save her brother. Can she Make it there and find the magic before time runs out?

Claudia is very happy for her cousin Tessa finding her True Mate but like any girl she wants what Tessa and Dastien as well as Meredith and Donavan have but doesn’t expect to ever find it and especially not with a wolf.

When she arrives in Peru she meets this very handsome man/wolf Lucas; who she is instantly attracted to and he her. Lucas volunteers to be her guide in the mountains while she is looking for the magic she needs. Finding this magic may be more dangerous and harder to do than Claudia anticipated as they start out on their journey through the mountains.

Can Claudia find the magic she needs? Will she be able to break her tie to Luciana?  Can they stop the war that is coming? Can she find what she is looking for and make it back to her brother in time? Want answers? Read the story to find out.

I have said it before and I will say it again I love this series and can’t wait to dive into the next book Alpha Unleashed to find out more about the wolves, the witches, the fey and the impending doom that is hovering over them all.

Bruja is filled with just as much action and magic as the first three books that will keep you flipping those pages wanting to know more. With each book I pick up I fall further and further into its depths and get lost in its world of magic and the wolves and the witches all three of which are my favorite things to read about in the fantasy world.

The Alpha Girl series is so impeccably written and an engrossing read that you will be lost in its world from the first page. It is unputdownable.

I would recommend Bruja and the whole Alpha Girl series to all fans of the paranormal with werewolves, witches, fey and the nasty rotten kind of vampires.
