Interview with Brad Bevers
As a writer, what would you choose as your
mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
The Tiger (because I love
Vaillant’s book, The Tiger)
How many hours a day do you put into your writing?
When I am writing, I write
intensively every day. My goal is 1,000 words a day, which takes me just over
an hour to an hour and a half.
Do you read your book reviews?
Yes. I’m also an Amazon Vine
Reviewer and have been a top 1,000 reviewer on Amazon . . . have written my
fair share, figure its only right to read others.
Do you leave hidden messages in your books that only a few
people will find?
Nope.
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in The Mental Game of
Real Estate?
Non-fiction, The Mental Game of
Real Estate.
Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have
planned for the future?
This one took a lot out of me. I
want to focus on another one next year, but I’m still taking in feedback and
working through some ideas. I would love to write fiction one day as well, to
me that is a lot more impressive than writing non-fiction.
Do you allow yourself a certain number of hours to write or do you
write as long as the words come?
Write until I hit my goal.
Do you have a certain number of words or pages you write per day?
For this last book, 1,000.
What inspires you to write?
Helping people and growing my
business. As a non-fiction writer, there are huge benefits to writing that most
business owners don’t take advantage of. I love to write because I get to grow
my business and help others at the same time.
Would you rather
Read fiction or
non-fiction?
I love both (read over 100 books a year, 135 or so in 2019)
Read series or
stand-alone?
Stand-alone. Most series don’t hold up in my experience,
unless they are short.
Read Science fiction
or horror?
Science fiction
Read Stephen King or
Dean Koontz
Stephen King
Read the book or
watch the movie?
Read the book then watch the movie
Read an ebook or
paperback?
Paperback
Be trapped alone for
one month in a library with no computer or a room with a computer and Wi-Fi
only?
Library with no computer
Do a cross-country
book store tour or blog tour online?
Cross-country bookstore tour. Going to book stores around
the US sounds awesome, whether I’m speaking/selling or not.
