Abigail Miller helps run her mother’s diner in the town of Hopeful, Colorado.

How could any man possibly be interested in her when she considers herself too tall, too plain and not curvy enough? Ahead of curls which refuse to be tamed also don’t help.

Working from sun up to sundown, with the exception of Sunday mornings off to attend church, doesn’t leave much time for courting, so she is resigned to her fate of being left a spinster.

Will a wish made at the town well during a full moon ever be answered?

Max Long is the eldest son of a well-respected ranching family. His sister is Abigail’s best friend and also a friend to both him and his brother. He’d never thought of the tall, beautiful lady in that way.

Overhearing a conversation, he wonders if his feelings for Abigail could run deeper than mere friendship?

How will Max react when Abigail’s life is in danger?

Can the wishing well work its magic and bring her home safely?

Interview with Susan Horsnell

For those interested in exploring the subject or theme of your book, where should they start?
In the wild west states of the USA.

How did you become involved with the subject or theme of your book?
My father was an avid Cowboys and Indians’ fan and his love of the Old West rubbed off on me.  A few years ago we had the fortune to travel extensively throughout Texas which is where I have set most of my books.

What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved them?
A short version was originally in an anthology. This full version allowed me to more fully develop the characters and their interaction with the town well.

Anything you would like to say to your readers and fans?
I sincerely hope readers will enjoy the tales I weave. Writing is my passion and more than anything, I want my stories to be enjoyed.

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
I loved researching about the various moons and the myths behind them.

Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
I write in numerous sub-genres of romance and have a heavy load this year. I have 6 Sweet Westerns coming out, some in multi-author series, I am hoping to get the third in My Outback Australian Series (Cameron’s story) out and I have a new steamier western series about lawmen I hope to start on. I also hope to begin on a new series which will take readers around the world. I have three signings this year and am excited to catch up with readers and other authors.

How long have you been writing?
I penned my first story at about age 11. I have always had an overactive imagination and loved to ‘make stories up’ I have been publishing – Indie and Trad since 2013

Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Western Wishes?
Abigail is tall and thinks she is too plain and ordinary for any man, but she desires marriage and a family. She works in a diner owned by her mama.

Max is her best friend’s brother and the man she has lost her heart to, but he is oblivious to how she feels.

When her life is in danger, Max realizes how he feels and must find her and bring her home.

Wishes made at the town well couldn’t come true. Or could they?

If you could spend the day with one of the characters from (Western Wishes) who would it be? Please tell us why you chose this particular character, where you would go and what you would do.
Abigail. I would love to wear the dresses of the era and experience the togetherness of the townsfolk.

About the Author

I live in sunny Queensland, Australia and retired after 37 years of Nursing.

My husband of 45 years, together with our elderly Jack Russell Terrier and extremely opinionated 26-year-old Cockatiel, enjoy exploring the country.

When we are at home, we spend our time renovating our home.

I write a variety of stories including Western Historical Romance, Contemporary Romance, Male/Male, Menage and Shapeshifter.

Each book has a strong focus on storyline with romantic interest building throughout.

I explore real-life issues from kids on the streets to motorcycle war and put my own twist on each one.
