Book Tour + Review + #Giveaway: Shadow Magic (Macabre Academy Book 1) by Sherry Soule @SherrySoule13 @SDSXXTours

Shadow Magic
Macabre Academy Book 1
by Sherry Soule
Genre: Paranormal Mystery Romance

Ghost summoning? No biggie. Raising the dead? Bring it on. Solving my sister’s sudden disappearance? A bit more complicated…

I’m Serena LeStrange, a necromancer who prefers to hide her freakishly fabulous skills from others. Only my sister makes me feel less of a weirdo, so when she mysteriously vanishes from college, I enroll at Macabre Academy to start my own investigation.

Except this is no ordinary school for the magically inclined, it’s home to all monsters—even the most dangerous ones. And after meeting an incredibly gorgeous vampire and a sinfully hot reaper, I find myself entangled in a passionate, yet forbidden, flirtation. To complicate matters, I get stuck with a ghostly genie sidekick and suspect a sinister sorority of misdeeds.

But to solve the mystery, I’ll need all the help I can get. Someone at Macabre knows what happened to my sister, and I won’t stop until I dig up the truth.

Unfortunately, some dark secrets prefer to stay buried.

Do you enjoy not-so-cozy paranormal mysteries, slow burn romances, and unconventional heroines?
Welcome to Macabre Academy, the first spellbinding book in a paranormal mystery romance trilogy!
PG-13: *No F-bombs, sex (slow burn), or graphic violence, but there are steamy kisses.
Heroine: A quirky supernatural Nancy Drew.
Premise: An older university-age paranormal academy series with mystery and light humor.

He stepped closer, and I forced myself not to move as my world filled with awareness of him, the blue of his eyes, the almost white hair, the cool touch of his skin, and the slow smile that softened his mouth. A grin I returned.

Dante moved an inch nearer, then hesitantly stopped, his blue gaze locking onto to mine. “You’re so very beautiful,” he whispered.

I closed the gap between us until we stood toe-to-toe. He slowly raised a hand and tenderly brushed his knuckles along my cheek to my jawline, a thrill surging through me. Warmth flushed my skin at the gentle caress, and I stilled as the tickle of his minty breath swept against my cheek. I wanted to kiss him. Wanted his lips crushed against mine so bad it shocked me. His hand moved to the back of my neck, sliding under my hair to gently grip my nape. My gaze focused on his mouth. If I leaned upward our lips would touch, and everything would change. My heart was beating too fast, and heat pooled deep in my body.

“You’re not in the least bit turned off by my being a grim reaper?” Dante whispered.

“Why should I be? You didn’t choose your powers anymore than I did,” I murmured.

“So awfully true…” His voice held a hint of sorrow, and it stirred an alarming yearning within me.

Shadow Magic has found a spot on my top ten list. Shadow Magic is a magically enthralling read that pulled me into its depths the moment I read the first page. Once I picked it up there was no way I was going to lay it down until I had read the last page.

I loved the world setting and the characters. I loved that magical creatures lived in the same world and went to school together. I love the brilliant idea that there were colleges for the magically inclined. They had classes for Necromancy, witches, reapers plus many more paranormal creatures and monsters.

I could just imagine the names of the classes for instance maybe there was a class called Necromancy 101 or Bringing the Dead back 101 or Magic: Evil vs Good 101 or Spells 101 or Recipes for Spells 100 or How to Raise a Zombie 101 or How to preform Magic 101 oh I could go on and on but I think you get the idea right?

Serena LeStrange is a Necromancer but she can’t bring anyone back from the dead legally until she has a license to practice so to speak. You know as they say it doesn’t matter what you know, you have to have that paper trail. Serena is studying to become a Necromancer when she receives a call from her Dad informing her that her sister is missing and no one seems to know where she is or what happened to her.

Serena decides to transfer to Macabre Academy where her sister was attending classes for witches. Serena thinks that she will have better luck at finding her sister if she attends the same school. She would be at the heart of the place where her sister went missing and closer to the people her sister went to school with and lived with every day.

Serena cared for and loved her sister more than anything and will not give up until she finds her. Serena’s sister is the only one who got her or understood her, the only person to whom she could be herself with.

Serena meets a girl at Macabre Academy who becomes her best friend. Serena meets a very handsome vampire and a hot reaper; things start to heat up after meeting these two. Yeah the heat ramps up and the sparks start flying.

Shadow Magic likes to hold on to its secrets revealing them slowly a little at a time to keep the pages turning and have you racing to the end as each one is revealed wanting more. I can’t wait until the next book to read more of these wonderful characters and of this academy world with all the different paranormal creatures.

I definitely recommend Magic Shadow to all fans of magic, witches, Vampires and other paranormal creatures.
