Skyla Overland is proud to work for Overland Insurance, the company founded by her grandfather. She enjoys sharing an apartment with her best friend, Pauline, and is in love with Edmond. Besides one nerve-wracking insurance fraud case in the past, her sheltered life is uneventful and just the way she likes it.

Until one day, everything changes…

Skyla and Troy, the manager at Overland Insurance, are the last ones to leave the office. In the empty parking lot, Troy takes her in his arms. Why would he ruin their easy-going friendship by kissing her, especially since he knows she’s dating Edmond?

Left alone, Skyla hurries to her car, puts on her seatbelt, and glances in her rearview mirror.

The face of a stranger grins at her from the backseat. “How nice to see you again,” he hisses close to her ear.

Regaining consciousness, Skyla finds herself on the backseat of her own car, with her hands tied behind her back.

Is she getting kidnapped? Who is he? And where is he taking her?

My Review:

Skyla Overland is leaving an office Thanksgiving party when she is abducted. Skyla has been having the feeling that she was being stalked for a while when she leaves the party. She wonders if it is safe for her to walk across the parking lot alone to her car but lays her fears aside and continues on to her car. Once inside the car she hears a male voice coming from the back seat. She tries to escape but is knocked out for her trouble.

Skyla is taken to a cabin in the woods out in the middle of nowhere. Skyla has no idea where she is or which way is out. Inside the cabin Skyla is introduced to her kidnappers three children. Skyla learns that she has been brought to the cabin to be the children’s new mother. Skyla’s new role is mother, wife, babysitter, and maid. Skyla is a strong woman and has no intentions of staying and will never give up. She will fight to be free until the day she escapes or until she is six feet under.

Skyla’s family are all looking for her and they too will never give up until they have found her. Skyla’s co-worker Troy is also looking for Skyla. On the night of the office party Troy kissed Skyla passionately. While Skyla enjoyed the kiss she wasn’t sure exactly how she felt about it at the time as she has a boyfriend, Edmond. Skyla has a long time to play that kiss with Troy over and over in her head and to figure out how she really feels about Troy and Edmond during her time spent with her kidnapper.

Overland is the first novel by Ramcy Diek that I have had the opportunity to read. I was drawn in from the first page. Overland is a heart wrenching story that once it takes a hold it will keep on squeezing making you want to jump right in the book to do a little punching and shoving yourself. I just wanted to wrap my arms around all three of those precious little babies.

Overland had me in tears on more than one occasion. Overland held me in its grip from beginning to end. Once I picked Overland the world around me disappeared with each turn of the page as I slipped further and further into Skyla and those precious little babies world. I can’t wait to check out other books by Ramcy Diek.

I would recommend Overland to all fans of thriller romantic suspense stories. One-click your copy of Overland today to begin this epic thriller. Overland may not be for every one as it does hold a few triggers like rape and abuse.

Author Bio:

A long time ago, I fell in love with the United States while traveling around in an Oldsmobile station-wagon with my husband. We are both born and raised in the Netherlands.
Together, we eventually found our way to the Pacific Northwest, built up a business, and raised our two boys into amazing young adults with their own careers. During this time, I also made a slow transition from reader to writer of many different stories.

My multiple award winning debut novel "Storm at Keizer Manor" sets the bar high for my second novel, Eagles in Flight.
All my books are stand alone novels in different genres. You might be in for a surprise, or a disappointment.
