A CSI Eddie Collins Novella

Blurb:
“Sometimes our prayers are not only ignored, but you can hear someone laughing in the background.”
It’s his last shift of the week, but CSI Eddie Collins is examining the scene of an armed robbery at a Post Office. Everything is going well until he finds one startling piece of evidence that turns him into a target.
Nelson is part of a professional gang of violent armed robbers who work their way around the country stealing large sums of cash. The gang arrives in Leeds, and Nelson decides to make changes to their successful formula. His plan is falling into place until he leaves behind a vital piece of evidence at their latest job.
DI Wilbourne is tasked by New Scotland Yard to pursue the gang, to collect and collate the evidence they leave behind. But there’s something strange about him, and it has nothing to do with his dress sense or his nasal hair.
Shannon is an observer, out with Eddie at a Post Office robbery. She’s about to discover that making the wrong decision can be fatal.
This is one job where Eddie regrets having a keen eye.

My Review:
In The Crew, we get to step back into a day in the life of our favorite CSI Eddie Collins. And this is not one of Eddie’s best days as it is his seventh day in a row working. He is tired, worn out, and more cranky than ever but he is good at his job. But just like everyone else he is not perfect and does miss things on occasion and this just happens to be one of his off days.
Eddie gets a call out on a call to a robbery at the local Post Office where he makes his first mistake of the day. But this is not the thing that starts his day off wrong. When he walks into the office today the first thing he is faced with is an “attachment” a ride along and Eddie hates attachments. This particular attachment comes with her own baggage attached. Eddie is not good with handling his own baggage much less someone else’s.
The Crew may be a novella but it packs a lot of punch just like a full-length novel. The descriptions are all so vividly written making it so much easier to watch as they all played out in my head as if in real-time. It was like getting to watch through Eddie’s eyes as he investigates the crime scene. So remarkable!
The Crew has plenty of action with lots of twists and turns that I never saw coming. I was like whoa that can’t be, no way. Needless to say, my jaw was hanging. But I was impressed with Shannon though or well Andrew Barrett’s writing here, shocked me.
With The Crew, we get the story from different character's side. We get to see inside the head of more than just Eddie. Although that ending was awesome it has left me stunned, to say the least. I love these Eddie Collins stories and can’t wait for the next one to see what crimes are to be solved and see the world through the eyes of Eddie and Andrew.
I would recommend The Crew and all of Eddie’s stories to all fans of mystery, and crime scene investigations. If this is your cup of tea then I would suggest you get to clicking your copy of The Crew plus the rest of Eddie’s stories today if you would like to help solve a crime!
