The shooters thought that they were possessed by the Devil, and the Devil was ordering them to carry out his plan.
Two years later, after the news of the shooting became a distant memory for most, four different people from four different walks of life suddenly meet the same lady, who starts to impact their lives in unexpected and mysterious ways. Interview with Julia Sherman
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Fate and Fortune?
I tried to make them all different from one another. It is really difficult to write a story from 4 points of view, so I had to make sure that they all came from 4 different walks of life.
Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
I’m currently working on the 2nd book in this series, where the mystery unfold even more. New characters will be introduced but the old ones will still play an important role.
How long would you say it takes you to write a book?
Over a year.
What is your favorite childhood book?
The Wizard of Oz
If you could spend the day with one of the characters from Fate and Fortune who would it be?
Erica, one of the main characters. She was one of the most complicated characters in the book. She is a very deep thinker. I would just go for a cup of coffee and have a great conversation with her.
What was the hardest scene from Fate and Fortune to write?
Flashback from the shooting. I had to make sure that it was very emotional and truly resonated with people.
What made you want to become a writer?
I started writing when I was a kid, it helped me fit in and understand the world a little bit better. I came to the US when I was 11 years old and very often, I felt like an outsider, I felt that I didn’t fit in. Writing helped me escape loneliness.
