Can you tell us a
little bit about the characters in Deadly Games (Dallas After Dark, Book Two)?
Dallas’ hottest male stripper, Nash Hawkins, gorgeous,
talented and a clever private investigator who knows more about the city’s
criminal networks than even the local police. Past mistakes while growing up
kept him out of his dream job, law enforcement, but that hasn’t stopped him
from battling crime his own way. Although women throw themselves at him, he’s a
monogamous man who wants a woman who cares about him, not just his looks or
other, sizable (ahem) attributes...
Special Agent Katherine Bowden is coming off a humiliating
divorce where her cheating husband blamed her workaholic habits for their
marriage failure. She knows he’s wrong, but deep down, she wonders if she
should slow down and enjoy life once in a while—hard to do since she’d
dedicated her life to hunting down the kinds of twisted monsters who kidnapped
her best friend growing up. Yet one night at Dallas Heat, the local male strip
club, changes everything. She has a mind-blowing one night stand with the
club’s hottest dancer, the last man she expects to team up with when a serial
killer begins stalking the Dallas streets.
Can you tell us a
little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
Next up is Reckless
Deceptions, (Dallas After Dark, Book Three) where a rogue CIA agent,
working as a bartender/dancer overhears a terrorist plot and teams up with a
former CIA partner in a race against time to thwart what might be the second
deadliest terror attack on U.S. soil. I’m also writing more books in my Rocky Mountain Cowboys series. Book
four, A COWBOY’S PRIDE comes out in
September, WINNING A COWBOY’S HEART,
book five is released Feb 2019 and look for A RANCHER TO REMEMBER, book six in April 2019. Three more books are
planned in the series after that!
How long would you
say it takes you to write a book?
About two months.
What is your favorite
childhood book?
The Little House on the Prairie series which is tied with
the Anne of Green Gables series. I love them so much!
If you could spend
the day with one of the characters from DEADLY GAMES who would it be? Please
tell us why you chose this particular character, where you would go and what
you would do.
I would spend a day with S.A. Katherine Bowden in DEADLY GAMES. She’s very intelligent,
focused and good in hand-to-hand combat and with a gun. I’d love to hunt serial
killers with her and put the animals in cages where they belong, as Katherine
likes to say.
What was the hardest
scene from DEADLY GAMES?
The hardest scene in Deadly
Games to write was the opening scene because it’s from the point-of-view of
a victim who’s being held captive in a serial killer’s twisted lair. I felt for
this scared, frightened girl as she desperately tries to figure a way out of
her predicament and while it worked for the book to help the reader understand
the demented mind of the serial killer Katherine hunts, it was difficult to
write because I sympathized with her so much—and wanted Katherine to rescue her
all the more!
What made you want to
become a writer?
Reading books that let me escape from my regular life and
its troubles made me want to do the same for others. I wanted to tell the kinds
of stories that would entertain as well as give people hope in
happily-ever-afters.
