Blurb:

When the guy voted most likely to steal her heart comes back to Asscrack, West Virginia, Ella Mae Bevinly is speechless…literally.

It's like she's been jinxed, but what are the odds of that? The opportunity of a lifetime is here, if she can get over her shyness long enough to play tennis in front of a packed crowd. Maybe wearing a magical glamour...and not sucking...is the answer she needs to change her life forever.

Of course, the heartbreaker has been a bad, bad boy. Magnus Cruze is the most popular tennis player on the Paranormal Professional Tennis Players' Tour. Now, he's back in his hometown of Asscrack to garner some positive public relations to save his career. He just has to be the perfect poster-boy of good behavior and not mess up again. That means keeping his hands off of Ella Mae…er…Tater Tate…or any other tennis player he comes across.

Tennis can't fix everything, but when jinxes fly faster than tennis balls, tell 'em to kiss your ace!

My Review:

Ella Mae Bevinly is very shy and is only able to talk to the few people that she is very close to. Ella Mae lives with her step-mother and two step-sisters who are always giving her orders and makes her do all the house work and wait on them. Jinxerella is a Cinderella retelling. Ella Mae wants nothing more than to make a life for herself so she can hopefully get out from under her step-mothers evil thumb.

Her chance comes her way when a guy from her past arrives in town looking for some good publicity to right some bad publicity. Tennis champion Magnus Cruze from the Paranormal Professional Tennis Players' Tour is in town to hold a tennis tournament for someone to go on tour with him.

Magnus is sort of an old friend of Ella Mae’s. Magnus just happens to be her long lost prince charming so to speak. Yeah Ella Mae has had a crush on our very hot Magnus ever since they were children playing together in their hometown of Asscrack, West Virgina.

Ella Mae figures that if she joins the tournament then maybe just maybe she can kill two birds with one stone as they say. If she joins the tournament and wins then she can take the prize money to start her career and then hopefully leave Asscrack behind or at least her step-mother and step-sisters.

But she has one little problem and that is opening her mouth. With her shyness she can’t even talk to the people at the registration table so how she going to be able to stand in front of a crowd of people and play tennis?

I love the little world that Cherie has created for the Jinxed world and all of the amazing characters. Each character has a role to play and they play it well even the evil step-mother and step-sisters. I loved seeing Baba Yaga make an appearance.

Jinxerella is a short read that is so magically enthralling that I couldn’t put it down I had to keep reading to learn more about each character and where the story was going in this wonderful world of Jinxerella. I like that we got to see the points of view from both Ella Mae and Magnus. I like getting inside the heads of all the characters so that I can see how they look and feel about what is going on around them and what their world is like. I can’t wait to see where Cherie takes us next in the Jinx world.

I highly recommend Jinxerella to all fans of magic, witches, retellings, fun witty stories set in a magical little town filled with paranormal happenings.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

It all started with an old fashioned typewriter. When my family brought it home, I knew what I wanted to do. All those stories rolling around in my head could finally get out. The press and click of the keys were satisfying in their own right, but when I pulled out a finished page, I knew this was for me. Since then, I’ve graduated to a laptop, but the stories still find a way out.

I’m a breast cancer survivor, a teacher, a wife, a mother, and from the very beginning—a storyteller. Always a hint humorous and honest to a fault, I love to make people laugh, smile, and have “a-ha” moments. My goal in life is to achieve tact and stop procrastinating. The battle wages on.
