A young woman with a secret heritage. A man who made a deal with the devil. And an academy where the students are just as dangerous as the demons …

Erin
I’ve been kept from the truth all my life. Demons walk the earth, and I’m destined to slay them–I only wish I hadn’t lost someone I loved while discovering that truth.
Now the demons are after me. The only way to stay alive is to attend an academy for demon hunters–a school where I’ll learn how to kill supernaturals and slay the underworld’s minions. But I still feel there are secrets I’m not being told …

Rey
I sold my soul to save my family–and lost everything because of it. Now I’m a slave to the underworld, a fake hunter with half-demon blood.
I’ve been sent on a special assassination mission. If I fail, it means my life. But protecting Erin soon becomes more important than any other task, and there’s something about her that tells me her arrival at the academy will change everything …

My Review:

Erin and her Aunt Paula moved around for most of her life not staying long in any one place. They moved so much that she never had time to make friends but after Erin started complaining about them moving so much to her Aunt their moving around stopped.

Erin wants what every other person her age wants and that is to go to college but with no money that was going to make it difficult for her. One day Erin over hears another student offering his friends money to go inside a haunted house. No one seemed to be taking him up on his offer. Erin needed the money and thought the money could be her ticket out of there so she took him up on his offer.

All she had to do was spend one hour inside the house, easy peasy right wrong. Upon entering the house strange things start to happen. Demons start to appear out of nowhere. One of the demons leaves a mark on Erin while she is trying to fight her way out amongst all the little creatures that are trying to bite her. Erin is rescued by a handsome boy who comes in with his blades blazing and saves her.

Ren explains to Erin what the mark the demon gave her means. It is away for the demon to track her. Ren explains to Erin who and what he is; a half-demon. Ren tells Erin that he can take her to the Blackthorn Hunters Academy where she will be safe and she will learn about the demons that are hunting her and how to slay the demons herself.

The Demon Kiss is a very magically enthralling read that drew me in from the first page with all of its non-stop action. The Demon Kiss kept me on my toes with the demons running around trying to find a way into the school to get to Erin. I could just picture Ren in my head dancing around with the demons slicing first one and then another.

I can't wait to read more of this demon world and also see where Ren and Erin's journey takes us in the next book in the magical world of the Rite World: Blackthorn Hunter Academy.

I really like books that are set in an academy setting and highly recommend The Demon Kiss to anyone who likes it as well. I would also like to recommend The Demon Kiss to all fans of magic, fantasy, demons, love and the paranormal.

Author Bio:

While USA Today Bestselling Author Juliana Haygert dreams of being Wonder Woman, Buffy, or a blood elf shadow priest, she settles for the less exciting—but equally gratifying—life of a wife, mother, and author. Thousands of miles away from her former home in Brazil, she now resides in North Carolina and spends her days writing about kick-ass heroines and the heroes who drive them crazy.
