For those interested in exploring the subject or theme of your book, where should they start?
Orange Blossoms-Love Blooms is an emotion-driven family saga about love, loss, family secrets, and new beginnings. These are broad themes that most of us will have to grapple with at sometime in our lives.
How did you become involved with the subject or theme of your book?
The theme involves the main character, Elaine Hart, trying to save her family’s orange groves, from being taken over by banker, David Cole. Decades ago, my grandmother had to fight to save her land in Salt Lake City, Utah.
What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved them?
My goal is for the reader to have an immersive experience when they read the story. My intention is that they connect with the main characters and care enough about what’s happening to them that they keep reading to the end.

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
I really like my characters. I get as involved in the story as the readers. It’s like watching a movie unfold in front of me and I try to capture the details.
Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
Orange Blossoms-Love Blooms is Elaine Cole’s story in the California Heart Series, Book 1. Currently I am writing Book 2, Elaine’s sister, Morgan’s story, which is titled Anything But Love. It should be published sometime next year.
How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing since elementary school, but I began to focus on novel writing for the last 3 years.
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Orange Blossoms-Love Blooms?
Elaine Cole, the main character, is feisty, passionate, and willing to do anything to save her family’s orange groves. When she meets banker, David Cole, the one man who has the power to destroy her family legacy, she has to fight her attraction to him. Both Elaine and David have recently experienced disastrous relationships and aren’t looking for love, but it finds them anyway.
If you could spend the day with one of the characters from Orange Blossoms-Love Blooms, who would it be? Please tell us why you chose this particular character, where you would go and what you would do.
I’d spend the day with Morgan, because she’s such a contrasts to Elaine and I am really getting to know her. She’s carefree and just likes to sunbathe and have fun. We’d have a margarita and nachos at a Mexican restaurant that over- look the ocean and flirt with some handsome men that we met at the bar.
I’ve always enjoyed reading and writing and grew up surrounded by a wide variety of books, from westerns to romance novels. I love stories—watching them, listening to them, reading them, and writing them. My contemporary novels include complex and diverse characters that grapple with family legacy, love, loss, and laughter as they face the challenges of life. When I’m not working on my next manuscript, you can find me bike riding along the beach with my husband or exploring the mysteries of the universe with my daughter.
