Tears of Change is a collection of poems and quotes that takes you on a journey through the everyday emotions of life. In this book you will find unique, one-of-a-kind poems. Some will touch your heart and bring you to a place of appreciation and peace, and others may change the way you view and look at things. You will find ones that will move you through joy, loss, acceptance and renewal, as well as pain and sorrow. My hope is that one or many will inspire you to take a leap into expressing all of your own emotions so you can reach a deeper place of love and gratitude within yourself.

Interview with Debbie A. Monteggia

What was the hardest scene from your book to write?

My book is a book of poetry. I did not have difficulty writing any particular poem. The most challenging part of putting my book together was coming up with a title that encompassed each poems’ uniqueness. Pulled all the poems together.

Why did you choose to write in your particular field or genre?

My poetry moves deep through many emotions. I have been writing poetry for many years and I was eager to share what I had written to the world. My hope being that it could help the readers with processing many of their own emotions so they can arrive at a deeper place of love and understanding within themselves.

If you write in more than one genre, how do you balance them?

My style of writing is poetry. I do not write in any other genre.

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

Once I knew what poems I wanted to incorporate in my book, I really enjoyed pulling it all together. It was very exciting and gratifying when seeing the artwork and poem inspiration related to each poem materialize into book format.

What book that you have read has most influenced your life?

To Kill A Mockingbird

Tell us a little about yourself? Perhaps something not many people know?

I’m a very spiritual and compassionate person. I enjoy experiencing new places and people and strive to embrace the beauty and my blessings in each day.

What people may not know about me is I start each day incorporating three things in my morning routine.

1.    Practice my spirituality by reading a couple of inspirational passages each morning.

2.     Journal for 15 mins. This helps me to focus and release any trivial and meaningless thoughts and emotions. This leaves space for new and positive thoughts and emotions to develop. This also helps me to more easily process any challenging things that pop up during my day.

3.    Exercise each morning by either working out at the gym, water aerobics or bicycling. This really activates my endorphins, my feel good hormones.
