Medallion of Murder
B.R. Myers
(Nefertari Hughes Mystery #3)
Publication date: September 18th 2018
Genres: Contemporary, Mystery, Young Adult

Still struggling with nightmares from the past summer, Terry tries to bury her secret guilt and enjoy her family’s first Christmas in Devonshire. But when a murdered man is found with a postcard addressed to her, Terry fears the repercussions from that fateful night in Egypt are becoming a reality.

After she receives a coded message from Awad, Terry and her best friend Maude are thrown into the hunt for a lost medallion, an artifact that possesses a great power—and a gruesome destiny. As each clue leads to more disturbing truths (and bodies), Terry begins to suspect she’s the real target of the search. When Awad goes missing, she becomes certain the Illuminati are involved, and has no choice but to risk losing the thing she cherishes the most to get him back.

But Terry will soon discover the secrets of the tomb cannot be erased by distance or power, because the ghosts of her past are closing in quickly… and this time, they refuse to stay buried.

My Review:

When a dead body turns up with a post-card addressed to Terry with the thumb print of one of her best friend Awad’s on it Terry doesn’t know whether to go in hiding or not especially when there is one police officer keeps appearing. Terry runs into Officer Kim on several occasions’ one being when the security alarm at their apartment is triggered.

Awad has been sending Terry presents which contain clues and little puzzles that she along with the help of her friends, Maude, Zack, Fraser, and Jackson to find a medallion. Terry has just learned about the power of three. The power of three is an asp, diadem and a medallion. Terry has the asp tattooed on her arm that gives her super-human powers and she knows that she ran across the diadem at a dig. It is said that whoever has all three will be incredibly powerful but there is one little loop-hole to having this incredible power.

What is this loop hole? Who is willing to pay the price for all this power and if this power lands in the wrong hands what will happen to that person or maybe even the world? What length would someone go to have all this power? What would they sacrifice to behold it?

Terry and her Scooby-doo mates are now racing against the clock to find this lost medallion before it lands in the wrong hands. But can she keep herself and all her friends alive long enough to solve the case?

I have followed Terry’s story from the beginning starting with the first book ASP of Ascension and then in the second book Diadem of Death in the Nefertari Hughes Mystery. I fell in love with Terry and Maude as well as the rest of the crew in the first book. I love the history of the archaeology sites and digs that Terry and her Dad were on.

Terry is a great person with a very big heart and I think she would be great in whatever field she chose to enter or what classes she decides to take in college. All the characters are real easy to follow and get caught up in as if you were there with them or someone you would like to know in real life. The author makes them seem as if they are real.

When I picked up Medallion of Murder I couldn’t put it down I had to know what the Scooby-doo team was up to next and what path they were taking us down. Medallion of murder is filled with so many twist and turns that keeps you hanging on and waiting for more.

If you have not read this wonderful story, Medallion of Murder then I highly suggest that you do but I would suggest that you start with the first book ASP of Ascension and the second book Diadem of Death before reading Medallion of Murder in order to get Terry’s and everyone else’s backstory so you won’t miss a thing. It has been proven that you can read Medallion of Murder first but you miss out on so much when you do. So add the  Nefertari Hughes Mystery series to your TBR list today!
