Born to a death sentence in a near-future America, rebellious sisters herald a revolution—if they can survive.

Twins Ava and Mira Goodwin defy the Rule of One simply by existing. The single-child law, ruthlessly enforced by Texas’s Governor Roth, has made the sisters famous fugitives and inspirations for the resurgent rebellion known as the Common.

But the relentless governor and his implacable Texas State Guard threaten that fragile hope, as Roth consolidates his power in a bid for ultimate authority.

As Ava and Mira relinquish the relative safety of their Canadian haven to stand against Roth, new allies arise: Owen, a gifted young programmer, impulsively abandons his comfortable life in a moment of compassion, while Zee, an abused labor camp escapee, finds new purpose in resistance.

The four will converge on Dallas for a reckoning with Roth, with nothing less than their destinies—and the promise of a future free from oppression—on the line.

Disobedience means death. But a life worth living demands rebellion.

My Review of The Rule of Many (The Rule of One #2):

The Rule of Many is the second book in The Rule of One series and it picks up right where the first book The Rule of One left off where the twins Ava and Mira have made it to Canada.

In Canada Ava and Mira meet a group of people who want the same thing they want and that is to take down Governor Roth and do away with the one child policy. Ava and Mira also find out that they are not the only twins ever born and that there were other couples who had more than one child.

In The Rule of Many we not only get Ava and Mira’s point of view we also get points of view from other characters as well like Owen and Zee. Owen is a computer programmer who had to give his parents half of his pay and Zee worked and lived in one of the labor camps.

I like getting points of view from more than one character as you get to know more about that character and you get to see what they think. I see it like this if I only get one point of view and a new character comes on the scene then I am like who is this person but if I get their point of view before they come on the scene so to speak then I already know who this person is besides it is fun to try and figure out how all of their lives or stories are going to intertwine.

The Rule of Many like the first book is filled with action from the first page and doesn’t let up until the last. It will draw you in and leave you wanting to know where the twins are going next. I loved the world that the authors created for The Rule of One series with the one child policy.

The description of said world was just awesome and had me feeling as if I was right there with the twins fighting with them and seeing everything through their eyes. I can’t wait to read more about the twins and their world. I would also like to see more of Roth to learn more about his life and story.

I would recommend The Rule of Many to all fans of dystopia and science fiction.

My Review of The Rule of One (The Rule of One #1):

In the not too distant future of The United States has become over populated which resulted in a lack of food for everyone. A one child policy was set into motion to hopefully save everyone. If more than one child is born to a family then it must be reported to the authorities or suffer the consequences.

Ava and Mira are twin sisters who have been living in secret for eighteen years each attending school on different days pretending to be one person. Everything fell apart for them the day Governor Roth his wife and their grandson Halton came to visit. Halton is very suspicious of the girls knowing something is not quite right and questions one of them at the dinner.

Ava and Mira end up having to go on the run hiding out has a man wide hunt has been issued for the girl’s capture. Ava and Mira have to hide their identity from the world while trying to find safety. They have to travel through desolate land with very little water and food for survival avoiding people, cameras, drones and guards.

After reading the summary of The Rule of One I just had to read it; even the title itself drew me in but after reading the first page it was on then as I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. What drew me in was that two girls twins pretending to be one for years. I kept wondering, what was their one mistake that caused their secret to be known. Or was it more than one mistake? I had to know their story about what it was like to live as one. How did they do it; then to have their world come crashing down around them and their whole world changing in the blink of an eye.

I will have to say that The Rule of One will draw you in and have you chasing around after Ava and Mira wanting to help them to fight back and find safety. I was rooting for them the whole way wanting them to come out on top. The Rule of One reminded me of the movie What Happened to Monday.

If you like dystopian books then you are going to fall in love with The Rule of One world as the world building is fantastic. If you like movies like What Happened to Monday then give The Rule of One a try. I can’t wait to dive into the next book The Rule of Many. What sort of adventures will the girls take us on?
