Virtual Book Tour + #Giveaway: Crowns and Cabals by Dina Rae @HalooftheDamned @RABTBookTours
Date Published: March 30, 2019
Publisher: Conspiracy Ltd.
Vigilantes stumble upon a cabal of world power.
Journalist Raphael King knows three things about New World Order. First, control the media. Check. Second, erase the world's borders. Check. Third, provoke a nuclear war. Check. Is it checkmate for the ultimate inner circle?
In 2043 Raphael loses it all. He and sister-in-law Jaxie Nottingham refuse to sit back and watch the new world government unfold. They set up vigilante cells with the goal of disrupting anyone who benefits after the war. One of their targets leads them to a secret society created since the dawn of civilization.
Interview with Dina
Rae
As a writer, what would you choose as
your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
That’s
easy-a dog! I have a true passion for
dogs.
How many hours a day do you put into
your writing?
That
depends. I could spend an hour or I
could spend the whole day. I usually
write more towards the end of a book.
Do you read your book reviews? If
yes, do they affect what you write in the future?
Oh
yes! And thank you for the wonderful one
you gave me! Yes, they affect what I
write in the future. They usually
encourage me to keep on writing. When I
get a bad review, I think about all of the major best-selling writers who have
gotten hundreds, thousands of bad reviews and keep on plugging. As a writer, one can always get better, but
to put together a story that is entertaining enough for someone else (not your
mother!) to read is already an amazing feat!
Celebrate it as an accomplishment, accept the negative, and be open for
improvement.
Do you leave hidden messages in your
books that only a few people will find?
My
hidden messages are for conspiracy addicts like me. They get where I am going with a storyline,
or get who I might be talking about in real life.
Can you tell us a little bit about
the characters in Crowns and Cabals?
I
have two main characters who each take turns telling the story from their
perspective. Raphael and Jaxie are both
one-percenters who make a ton of money, have Ivy League degrees, and work in
exciting, competitive careers. Raphael
was a TV journalist before nuclear war, and Jaxie continues to be a director at
a tech giant. Everyone they love
dies. All of their materialistic perks
they worked so hard to buy are gone.
Their upper class life is over.
The only things that keeps them alive are survival skills and technology
know-how. They don’t just get mad, they
get even, only to find out the entire world takeover has been planned since the
beginning of civilization. Both characters find others who also want their
pound of flesh, but their vigilantism turns into something more.
Can you tell us a little bit about
your next books or what you have planned for the future?
I
want to do a follow up on my one and only nonfiction, Big Pharma, Big Agri, and
Big Conspiracy. I also want to tackle a
YA novel.
Do you allow yourself a certain
number of hours to write or do you write as long as the words come?
I
work full-time as a teacher, so I write when I can, but try to do it everyday
even if all I got is a sentence. I don’t
want to get too far away from a story.
Do you have a certain number of words
or pages you write per day?
I
try to shoot for 500 words a day.
What inspires you to write?
The
news, social media, observations, religion, and love a good story.
Would you rather
Read fiction or non-fiction?
Love
both! Can’t really pick.
Read series or stand-alone?
Again,
too hard to pick!
Read Science fiction or horror?
Oh man, probably sci-fi, but I love horror!
Read Stephen King or Dean Koontz
King
Read the book or watch the movie?
Both! The movie usually sucks in comparison.
Read an ebook or paperback?
Ebook
Be trapped alone for one month in a
library with no computer or a room with a computer and Wi-Fi only?
Library
Do a cross-country book store tour or
blog tour online?
Both!
