Excerpt:
Desperately,
she glanced aside at the Westenian whose name she couldn’t say. But
some things did not need words. There would be a funeral feast in
Atulfa’s great red-dyed tent, at which his widows would serve the
guests as a mark of respect. The foreign chief would be there. She
must get close enough to tempt him. If he took her for the night and
she pleased him, perhaps she would be given to him. Anything to leave
the dreadful camp that had been her waking nightmare for two years.
He
wasn’t bad-looking: tall, blond, bearded. It could be worse. She
had never known a man; Atulfa had been too old and disabled to take
another wife in anything but name. The thought of lying with one
terrified her, but it was that or death. Seen in that light, he was
really quite attractive.

Fantasy
poetry driven by myths and legends has been my passion for as long as
I can remember. I was published in poetry before catching the romance
writing bug. I bring that background to my writing along with a
lifelong addiction to horses, an 18 year career in various areas of
psychiatric social services and many trips to Ireland, where I
nurture my muse. My published works range from contemporary fantasy
