A rising storm. A sudden catastrophe. No hope of rescue…

A storm looms on the horizon as Ruth Garber and her granddaughter Stella travel by helicopter to an offshore drilling rig. Ruth, a world-class geologist, is there to consult on a software upgrade. Stella, a geology student, just wants to prove herself to her legendary grandmother. They don’t know their trip will become a grim struggle to survive…

When the helicopter goes down after dropping them off, they realize they’re in trouble. The platform loses power. Cell phones don’t work. Everything electronic is dead. Stranded with a skeleton crew on a steel platform miles from shore, battered by massive waves, the deadly truth of their predicament slowly sinks in.

Meanwhile, John and his son Curtis are in a fishing boat, suddenly adrift when the engine fails. The waves are getting higher, and the storm has them on a collision course with the rig.

As the castaways on the rig struggle to survive, they discover the back-up generator has been deliberately damaged. When people begin to disappear, they come to a grim realization.

Someone in their tiny group is a saboteur.

My Review:

Ruth Garber, a world-class geologist, and her granddaughter Stella, a geology student, are on an offshore drilling rig when chaos sets in. The ship loses all power leaving Ruth, Stella, and the crew of the rig dead in the water. Ruth is only on the rig to help with a software upgrade and Stella wants to learn all she can from her famous grandmother.

Ruth is left in charge when it seems that the captain of the rig is missing. Ruth’s investigations lead her to believe that someone on the rig has sabotaged it. With only a skeletal crew it shouldn't be too hard to find the culprit, right? What is going on? Why did the rig lose power?

No Rescue definitely grabbed my attention from the moment I turned to that first page. It is filled with lots of twists. Twists that took me by surprise and kept me hanging on from one to another. I couldn’t turn those pages fast enough as I kept trying to figure out what was going on.

Especially when people started to disappear. Where were they? Were they still on the big metal ship? They could be hiding anywhere. I mean it is a big ship. Did they fall overboard? If so did they fall or jump? Oh, the mystery alone was enough to keep me glued to my seat.

No Rescue is a great start to a brand-new world. I can’t wait to see what the next book in the EMP Sabotage series has to offer. No Rescue has some amazing characters.

I love worlds like the one created for No Rescue and highly recommend it to all fans of the genre. I highly suggest that you grab your copy of No Rescue today!
