Virtual Book Tour + #Giveaway: Animal Circus by Michael Batchelor @mbatch1991 @RABTBookTours

Doe’s Circus, one of the last of its kind in Australia.
Travelling across the country all year round, thousands of humans visit to
revel in the tradition of Dagwood dogs, dodgem cars and the weekend prime time
show.
Yet for the animals locked away in the small confines of the
petting zoo, the circus is a neon-lit, human-infested nightmare.
Tormented by the ringmaster and his gang of tyrannical
showmen, two pigs, a rooster and a sheep devise a plan to accomplish the
impossible―escape the circus.
Interview with Michael Batchelor
Can you tell us a
little bit about the characters in Animal Circus?
Animal Circus
centers around four petting zoo animals: Walt the pig, Bonnie the pig,
Nathanial the rooster and Darling the sheep as they hatch a daring plan to
escape the circus.
Can you tell us a
little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
I’m writing a collection of short stories that explores the
fallout of a controversial law change in Australia.
How long would you say it takes you to write a book?
Hard to say. Animal
Circus took about a year. My book before than took 18 months. Depends on
how much research is involved.
What is your favorite childhood book?
Harry Potter.
A cliché choice, I know, but it’s a wonderful story.
If you could spend the day with one of the characters from Animal
Circus who would it be? Please tell us why you chose this particular character,
where you would go and what you would do.
I would spend the day with Huckleberry because I love
dogs and I’d take him on an adventure of running, swimming and chasing tennis
balls.
What was the hardest scene from Animal Circus to write?
The hardest scene to write includes a major spoiler so I
can’t say much except it involves a violent conflict.
What made you want to become a writer?
I’ve always wanted to write a story that people love and
connect with. As a reader, sitting down and engrossing yourself in an exciting
story is one of the best feelings and I want to provide that for other
people.
