For fans of Stranger Things comes a suspenseful YA mystery about a missing kid, a girl who can see ghosts, and a horrifying crime only four outcasts have the power to stop.

What if the only person who could help you find your missing brother was dead?

Nothing is as important to sixteen-year-old Shiloh Oleson as her little brother Max. So when the six-year-old goes missing without a trace, a heartbroken Shiloh refuses to believe nothing can be done and sets out to find him.

When one of Shiloh’s classmates says she knows where Max is, Shiloh hesitates to believe her. Francesca is creepy. She says she can see ghosts, but everyone knows ghosts aren’t real … right?

But Francesca says that Max is going to be murdered.

And a ghost told her where he is.

As the line between the dead and living begins to blur, Shiloh starts to think Francesca might not be as crazy as she believed. One thing is becoming clear. Someone has gruesome plans for Max, and Shiloh must confront her worst nightmares to find him before it’s too late.

THEY STAY is the first book in the They Stay Series. Read on if you like ghost stories, plot twists, enemies-to-friends, creepy circuses, budding romance, and unlikely heroes.

My Review:

Sixteen-year-old Shiloh Oleson lives in an abusive home with her little brother Max and her mom. Shiloh’s dad and also the sheriff abuses their mom regularly. Shiloh is always on the lookout for anything that could start her dad on a rampage.

Whenever he goes into one of his rages Shiloh grabs Max and takes him to his bedroom and reads to him or plays dinosaurs with him as he loves to play dinosaurs. Shiloh tries her very best to keep her little brother safe. She will do whatever and anything to keep him safe.

Shiloh always tries her best to be the one to pick Max up from school or tee ball practice. But there was this one day in particular when she couldn’t. She had to take a shift at work. So she made sure before she left that her mother was able to pick him up.

But later that day Shiloh tried calling her mom to make sure she picked Max up but wasn’t answering her phone. So she called her dad he said that her mom wasn’t able pick he up.

Shiloh knew exactly what that meant. Her dad had went off on another one of his rampages. So against her better judgment and without any other choice she ask her dad to pick him up. But when he arrives at the school Max is nowhere to be found. Where is Max? Did someone take him?

Shiloh starts her own investigation into Max’s disappearance and she finds that Max is not the only child that is missing. Other children have been disappearing for a while now.

Shiloh is contacted by a classmate, Francesca who claims she knows where Max is. Everyone thinks Francesca is crazy, but is she. Francesca claims that she can see and talk to the dead.

They Stay is a great start to a brand new series and I can’t wait to read more in this world of mystery and suspense. They Stay is a hard book to read. It has some very heart wrenching moments but it also has some wonderful moments too. When I opened They Stay I was drawn in right away and I couldn’t stop turning the pages as I just had to know what happened to Max.

You know I thought I had it all figured out from the very beginning. I thought I knew exactly what was going on but boy was I wrong. As I followed Shiloh, Francesca, Miles, and Jonah on their search for Max and as each clue was uncovered I began to realize that I didn’t know what I thought I knew.

I would recommend They Stay to anyone who likes a good mystery thriller. But I would like to give warning. They Stay is a hard story to read as it contains domestic violence that involves children among other things. One-click your copy of They Stay today!
