Interview with Anarie Brady
What inspired you to write Winter Love?
The focus of the book is a collaring ceremony,
something equal to a wedding in the BDSM world. It is often shrouded in mystery
simply because it is usually a private
ceremony between the people involved.
Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
I’m working on several ideas at the moment,
which isn’t a good strategy, but that’s just how it goes sometimes. 1. a
contemporary novel which incorporates both Greek and Celtic mythological
deities. 2. A “journal” of a dominant man who opens a
BDSM club. 3. A historical fiction novel set at Cahokia
Mounds. 4. A short story about a King
and his Queen.
Can you tell us a little bit about the
characters in Winter Love?
A major misconception about submissives is that
they are weak. In “Winter Love” , Maeve, the submissive is a very independent,
successful artist who has no wish to give up that independence. Jackson, her
dominant of many years, respects and
loves her, therefore, accepts her choice. BDSM is all about consent, respect,
trust, pleasure, and, of course, love.
You know I think we all have a favorite
author. Who is your favorite author and why?
THIS IS THE HARDEST QUESTION EVER!!! I adore Shakespeare - his humour, his
innuendos, his language. Jean Auel was truly inspirational because of her
uncanny ability to weave a story through research. Kevin Hearne is funny as
well and can paint a picture of ethereal worlds in a way which makes them seem
very real. John Green is - well - too awesome for words, at least for anny
words I know.
If you could time-travel would you
travel to the future or the past? Where would you like to go and why would you
like to visit this particular time period?
In fantasy, the medieval period, but in reality,
I think the lack of basic human comforts like toilets and bathtubs would really
detract from my enjoyment. With that in mind, I’m going to choose the 1920’s.
It was a time where modern conveniences, for the most part, were available, but
also women were starting to come into their own. Western culture was beginning
to realize women were not fragile beings with the brain capacity of little more
than children. We were becoming a force to be reckoned with. Plus, the music
was incredible, the clothing freeing, and the art unparalleled.
Do you have any little fuzzy friends?
Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?
I had a little shih tzu named Winky (after a house elf in Harry Potter),
but she passed away after 15 years of being my little shadow. I’d love to have
another dog, but my husband is unwilling. Therefore, I’ll have to settle for 2 grand pups - Venser
and Grunt. However, I have a chinchilla named Krampus. There’s a story behind his name, but I’ll
save that for another time. He likes to eat rose petals and honeysuckle
blossoms. Anything that can exist on flowers simply must be magical.

What inspired you to write A Little
Peace and Quiet of the Warm Winter’s Romance Anthology?
I
love writing for DCL and anytime they have an anthology call, I try to write
for it. The shifter romance is fun to write and I always love to write about
bear shifters.
Can you tell us a little bit about your
next books or what you have planned for the future?
I
also write under Marla Monroe and have a new book that’s out right now with
Siren, It Takes Two to Heal which is part of another shifter series, The
Wolfen. I’m waiting to hear what DCL has going next and hope to be in the next
anthology they have out.
Can you tell us a little bit about the
characters in A Little Peace and Quiet?
Carla
is a wolf shifter who’s just trying to make it out from under the men of her
pack, but the place she’s chosen is in sad shape to sustain a brutal winter, so
she’s trying to work on it. Heath is a bear shifter who is trying to get his
hibernating on. Unfortunately, someone is banging away next door and
interrupting his sleep. When he catches the little wolf, it’s to find that she’s
someone he’d like to hibernate with.
You know I think we all have a favorite
author. Who is your favorite author and why?
That’s tough. I can pick two but can’t pick one over the other. Sherrilyn
Kenyon and Laurann Dohner. Sherrilyn’s books grip you by the balls if you’re a
man or the throat if you’re a woman and wring you dry of emotions. Laurann’s
books make me yearn to be the heroine and have a hero like the one she’s
created.
If you could
time-travel would you travel to the future or the past? Where would you like to
go and why would you like to visit this particular time period?
I’d travel back to the wild west. I’d like to skip around and start out when it
was first explored then move up to the sixties for a while. I love the idea of
living off the land but would be happy to return to the present after a few
days. 😊 Yes, I’m spoiled.
Do you have any little fuzzy friends?
Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?
I’m a general animal lover, but right now, I have nine feline muses.
They entertain me, frustrate me, and inspire me.
Thanks for taking time out of your busy
schedule to visit with us today.

Kristi
Ahlers
Kristi
Ahlers is a California girl! She grew up in Northern California in a small city
called Yuba City. Since then she’s lived in Brussels, Belgium, and England
along with a myriad of other locations. A former flight attendant, she was able
to continue to feed her love of travel. This has greatly influenced her
writing, allowing her to pen stories about places she’s managed to visit and
things she’s experienced.
Morgan
Henry
Morgan
was able to realize a long unfulfilled dream when Siren accepted her manuscript
for publication. Though she had always
loved reading and writing, she made the decision to pursue a career in science
when she was still in high school. It was
a choice based in a need for stability and financial security.
It
wasn’t until much later in life that she returned to her love of writing. Morgan wrote a manuscript, deciding that it
was better to try and fail than to always wonder if she could have been a
writer. She was amazed and delighted to
have her first book published.
She
now resides in Ontario, with her loving and supportive husband, cat and Boston
terrorizer, oops I mean terrier. When
she’s not writing, she still has a full time “day job” that she loves, family
to look after, friends to enjoy spending time with, and quilts to make.
Mary
Alice Pritchard
Born
in Greenwood, Mississippi, Mary Alice Pritchard has lived all over the state of
Mississippi. She’s a nurse and has worked in nearly every area of the

is the Emergency Department with its fast pace and constant change, a true

Drawing
from the rich culture of the South and her own menagerie of experiences over
the years, she spins addictive tales of romantic intrigue, mystery and suspense
mixed with the paranormal and lightly sprinkled with her unique style of humor.
Presently
living in the northern part of the state, she works in the reimbursement area
of finance for a large health system and quietly creates conspiracies and
conundrums to entertain herself while plugging away at work. She lives with several
muses who both inspire her and conspire against her their feline antics a
constant source of entertainment and inspiration for her writing. Her love of
animals is only matched by her love of books and the joy of exploring a new
world every time she begins a new one.
