There’s not enough coffee or tacos in the world to deal with Darby Adler’s family.
If it’s not her death-dealing father, her back-from-the-dead mother, or her ghost grandfather, it’s her long-lost siblings and their bid for power. With the ABI radio silent and her siblings to find, Darby’s got a major problem on her hands—especially when the local coven figures out that her father is no longer bound.
Can Haunted Peak, TN handle this family reunion?

Interview with Annie Anderson
What made you want to become a writer?
I have always loved writing. Ever since I could hold a pen, I would write little stories. Instead of drawing my mother pictures, I would write her tiny little books.
What inspired you to write Dead Calm?
Living in coastal Virginia, honestly. I used to live on a Revolutionary War battleground and could swear my house was haunted. That led to wondering if talking to ghosts wasn’t totally bonkers, and what would happen if someone who could talk to ghosts just so happened to be a cop.
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Dead Calm?
The main character is Darby Adler, a ghost-seeing homicide detective and Bishop La Roux
You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?
That’s like picking your favorite kid! I do have a top 5 list: Shannon Mayer, Faith Hunter, Annette Marie, and Kristen Ashley. As for the why? Each of them write head-strong female leads that really shine. Every single time one of them has a release, it’s totally possible that my deadlines might get skewed a little so I can devour it. (Sorry, Angela!!)
Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
My next release will be Grave Watch, book 3 in Grave Talker’s sister series, and next year I’m starting a brand new series! The Wrong Witch series will follow Wren Bannister, a lovable screw-up witch with a little bit problem of not being able to do magic… You know, no big.
What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
The catharsis of it. I put a little bit of myself in all my books, but Dead Calm really hit me in the feels. The ending—which I’m not going to spoil—helped me work through a major loss that I hadn’t quite managed to wade through yet. That reason alone makes me equally love and hate it in equal measure. I’m sure in time I’ll love it again, but the tears weren’t exactly appreciated.
