Date Published: December 20, 2020

When love takes a turn, what are you willing to do to keep it?

Terra's love life is a monster so she sets out to see her old flame Nathaniel Johnston. But when she finds he is no longer living either, eternity is theirs. Bringing him back will get her a husband because of her passionate feelings for him.

Johnston is her new life, but when they are on their honeymoon in Germany things take a bad turn. The castle they stay in creates too much distance between the two.

Can she get closer to him before it's too late?

Interview with Martha Wickham

How did you become involved with the subject or theme of your book?

It's the first in The Mystery of Frankenstein's Bride series. I was reading about how to write horror and we were supposed to pick characters to write about. Frankenstein's bride always appealed to me and I didn't think much was written on her.

What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you have achieved them?

My intentions were to make a scary successful horror book, but it seems people aren't afraid. That's okay, it was my first attempt to scare.

What was the hardest part of writing this book?

Characterization, I knew her but when writing they need to be well rounded which is what having a series helps me do.

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

Just coming up with the plot. I would think of things then you have to get it down immediately. If I'm not sure what to write specifically I write ideas in my notebook and once I start they flow and I was happy with the outcome.

Where there alternate endings you considered?

Yes and I love doing that. This was an idea I had to write down. There are also alternate scene endings. I wonder if one day we will be writing choose your own ending novels and short stories. That might be confusing.

Can you share some stories about people you met while researching this book?

No one in person. I like learning. I google stuff I don't know.

What genre of books do you enjoy reading?

All kinds. On my kindle unlimited there are dramas, rom coms, historical fiction, and ghost stories.
