Expect the unexpected when it comes to love under the Aurora skies.

In the frosty mayhem of the Alaskan film set for Everybody Loves Polar Bears, accident-prone Macy Applegate catapults herself into a hilarious array of mishaps better suited for a blooper reel. As Macy dreams of stardom, she reluctantly works with Nick Westwood, the grumpiest and most arrogant assistant director this side of the Arctic Circle—a man who irritates her more than a stuck zipper in a sub-zero wind chill.

Beneath Nick's stoic exterior lies a mysterious secret, and the only thing more challenging than Alaska's winter is these two trying to get along for longer than a commercial break. Macy is a walking disaster in matters of the heart, and Nick is fed up with shallow relationships. But fate has a penchant for mischief when Nick transforms from Macy’s nemesis to her off-screen hero, chipping away at the permafrost around her heart. Should she give this guy a chance or continue wishing on the magical aurora borealis for perfect love?

In this hilarious romantic comedy, where polar bears play supporting roles and love takes center stage, Macy and Nick navigate a situation as unpredictable as Macy's on-set blunders. If you swooned through The Proposal and chuckled at The Hating Game…and if you have a soft spot for polar bears…get ready for laughter in this heartwarming tale of unexpected love!

Interview with LoLo Paige

Have you read anything that made you think differently about fiction?

All The Light We Cannot See made me think differently about fiction. So did the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.

How do you select the names of your characters?

I keep a running list of character names I collect from all kinds of sources. If I like a name that I think will fit a character, it goes onto the list.

Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find?

I pretty much write the story secrets as they evolve within the story.

What was your hardest scene to write?

I always have difficulty writing argumentative scenes and the black moment in romance because it makes me sad to torture my characters. But I know it must be done.

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

I write standalones in my series. My romcom series is connected by the Alaska settings, and my romantic suspense series is connected by the Aurora Fire Crew, based in Alaska.

What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved them?

My goals for my romcoms are always the same: To make readers smile and laugh. Alaska always seems to get a bad rap when it comes to books and movies. I wrote Everybody Loves Polar Bears to showcase Alaska in a positive light, as it is the perfect place for romance. All that forced proximity because of weather is fun to play with when telling a romance story. Judging by the 5-star reviews so far and readers loving Everybody Loves Polar Bears, I have achieved my goal.

What inspired you to writeEverybody Loves Polar Bears?

This story is based on my personal experiences working as an extra in several Hollywood movies filmed in Alaska. I rolled all the funny and not-so-funny incidents that actually happened into one fictional telling of the story. And of course, I changed all the names and movie titles. Because of this, I had a blast writing this story!

Can you tell us a little bit about the next books in Everybody Loves Polar Bears or what you have planned for the future?

I am working on more romcoms for the Polar Paired series that I’ll reveal later this year. I am also working on the next book in the Blazing Hearts Wildfire series, and will reveal that one this summer.

Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Everybody Loves Polar Bears?

In the frosty mayhem of the Alaskan film set for Everybody Loves Polar Bears, accident-prone Macy Applegate catapults herself into an array of mishaps better suited for a blooper reel.

But fate has something else in mind when Nick transforms from Macy’s nemesis to an off-screen hero, chipping away at the permafrost around her heart. Should she give this guy a chance or keep wishing on the magical aurora borealis for the perfect love?

Macy discovers that family isn’t always blood when the cast and crew accept her as one of their own and help her to navigate the tumultuous world of making movies. If you swooned through The Proposal and chuckled at The Hating Game…and if you love polar bears…you'll love this heartwarming tale of unexpected love with an unexpected family.

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

Since this is an enemies to lovers story I compare Everybody Loves Polar Bears to where The Proposal movie crosses with The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. This book is based on my own personal experiences working on local and Hollywood film productions. These were fun experiences with some somber moments, much hilarity, and fun with the people I worked with, both casts and crews, who were from all over the U.S. This was so much fun I hated when this story ended.
